Led Zeppelin and Queen, among others, included satanic messages in their music through the use of backmasking.

Well done.

I have not seen these, but I will definitely check them out.

Radiohead is the best band in the world.

Thanks. I was trying to decide what to listen to.

Dude, that happened decades ago.

I got no beef with Clarence. Well, except maybe for this:

You're hoarding the tiny ones though, right? Those are small potatoes. I've got like five hundred large ones in my desk drawer ... plus a few SUPER HUGE ones.

Wait, someone busted on the Captain from Captain & Tennille?

I'd say yes.

The Frank Caliendo non-appreciation thread

Madden's a pretty horrible commentator, in my opinion. I can't stand watching games that he's working. Talk about schtick that's gotten old. His past coaching success and video game franchise are irrelevant to whether he's an "interesting person." He bores the hell out of me. -
Posh Spice. Also, I'm starting to doubt Jerome's contributions to The Time.

I'm not worried -- yet -- about my 401(k). I figure I'm still 20+ years away from retirement. While the market is in the toilet, my contributions enable me to acquire shares at a faster rate -- "buying low."

Because you know it's the truth. There was never a worse member ... of any band, really. If the Eagles had been a great band, Don Henley would qualify. He's a shitty drummer.

The Frank Caliendo non-appreciation thread

I believe it was during the Phillies-Brewers series that I said out loud to a room full of people, "If I ever see Frank Caliendo in the street I'm going to walk right up and punch him in the face." No one disagreed. I never want to hear his John Madden again (seriously, is there a less interesting person to imitate?), and most of the rest of his impressions aren't even very good. He's way past his fifteen minutes. -

There is a Wilco connection to Ted Leo ... current Pharmacists drummer James Canty is the brother of Brendan Canty, who (along with being in Fugazi) was one of the guys who did the SBS bonus DVD, Sunken Treasure DVD, etc.

Definitely deserves a mention when talking about the best.

Not 100% certain about this, but I believe his wife has been very ill, and he's been paying her medical bills by touring.

I don't currently have a turntable, so "CD" was my answer. I don't believe I have ever purchased a digital file (MP3, etc.). I used to love shopping in stores, but virtually all of the stores I liked are now gone. So I went with "online," because I like ordering directly from artist's websites, and from places like milesofmusic.com, parasol.com, and even Amazon. Plus, I'm lazy ... and it's difficult to park anywhere near the couple of stores I still like.

Huh. I must have missed this interlude (I've been on the blue skin for ages). No worries. It'd be nice to have the blue one back, but I can certainly live without it.
-
Yeah, we're just going to have to disagree on that.

I'm a major Ted fan. Check out Chisel also (his previous band).

Speak honestly and from your heart and it'll be OK. Don't tell embarrassing stories or anything like that. I did the best man's toast at my brother's wedding, and had no idea what I was going to say right up until shortly before they handed me the microphone. I came up with an idea and just let it carry me through an extemporaneous speech, and it went over really well. It's the idea that's the tough part -- just think about your relationship with your brother, and perhaps what's different about him since he met his fianc
