  1. Exactly. Page and Plant didn't tour as Led Zeppelin; neither should Page and Jones.
  2. Maybe, but I really don't think those guys are hurting in that department.
  3. Yup. SO not going to this. Makes me wish I'd gone to see the Page/Plant tour.
  4. Happy Birthday! Hope it's a great one, Dan.

  6. Yeah, I figured there was an element of tradition involved. You can't go wrong at those places ... I'm just more of an ethnic food guy. Huh. Never been there, though I've been by it many times. I'll give it a try sometime.
  7. Nothing against Krazy Jim's or the original Cottage Inn (love 'em both, personally), but there are better restaurants in Ann Arbor...
  8. Fuck 'em. If that had been the difference in the score, it might have made up for the "long second" from the 2001 game.
  9. It's all in the name. People obviously thought they could get in and out faster at "QuickTrip" than at "Marathon."
  10. Hill isn't too bad, but it's huge -- and seats for this festival sell pretty fast. Here are some photos. I'm not sure I've been to Hill since it was renovated. Here is some more information on the festival. Unless you're a member/patron/sponsor of The Ark, it may be difficult to get prime seats for the shows.
  11. The lowest I've seen around here lately is $2.58 at exit 167 on I-94 (Baker Road, near where I work). I believe it's fallen about $1.00 over the past month.
  12. Not the overall best post-1980, but one that I appreciated recently: "Waiting For The Sun," The Jayhawks, Hollywood Town Hall Come to think of it, "Blue" off their subsequent album is also a fine opener.
  13. Sunday morning YouTube session ... confirming that this is my favorite from The Fixx. Those cheesy early '80s videos were the best.
  14. I expect it'll be really fucking cold here.
  15. I'm expecting a wicked celebrity cello cameo on the next Bird album.
  16. No, it takes place at one of the Second City venues in Chicago. It's not online.
  17. There's nothing on the Second City site yet. The auction usually happens in early December, I believe.
  18. He's been playing with the Pernice Brothers of late.
  19. I hope not. That would do nothing to dissuade the GOP's attitudes toward the Messiah-like treatment they believe Obama is getting. Best to avoid that kettle of fish altogether.
  20. Nike is now trying to rectify the situation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nike fudges, recognizes fastest marathon runner as "a" winner C.W. Nevius, Chronicle Staff Writer Thursday, October 23, 2008 Marathon runner Arien O'Connell will be a winner after all. O'Connell ran the fastest time in last Sunday's Nike Women's Marathon, but when she finished she was told she couldn't be awarded first place because she hadn't run in the "elite" women's group, which was given a 20-minute head start. O'Connell said she was contacted early this morning by a Nike representative who said
