So, you don't think anyone outside of the Democratic and Republican parties should ever run for president? Grow the fuck up. Also, you're assuming that Nader voters would have voted for Gore if Nader weren't in the race, which is a laughable assumption. Some Nader voters would've voted for Bush, and a lot more wouldn't have voted at all.
-
Yup. I'm not even going to try that Netflix option. DVDs through the mail are just fine for now.

You obviously don't know the first fucking thing about Ralph Nader. He said some stupid things during the 2000 election, and there's a small chance that his candidacy cost Gore the White House -- and that's obviously a major issue -- but that's where my quibble with Nader ends. Read up on his career sometime and educate yourself. Your life is better because of Ralph Nader. The fact that you call him "human garbage" just proves how woefully ignorant you are.
-
More importantly, how do the candidates feel about The Devil Wears Prada?

Is that Australian for "hand job"?

This is why the homeowner should have had the tenant sign a lease, so all of this was in writing. Threats of nervous breakdowns should not deter the tenant from moving out. Perhaps the tenant could offer to place an ad in the paper and/or online to help find someone else to share the house, just as a goodwill gesture, but if there's no lease holding the tenant there, sayonara. Sounds like both parties in this scenario need a bit of a reality check.
-
Sorry, but you're just flat-out wrong about this.
-
But even in the absence of a lease (which is a bad idea on the homeowner's part -- always have a tenant sign a lease!), that's the agreement that the tenant presumably entered into -- paying rent and sharing the utilities. The fact that the tenant doesn't spend much actual time in that house doesn't nullify that agreement -- that's a choice made by the tenant. The owner isn't "freeriding" -- it was the tenant's decision not to use the utilities he/she pays for. If the tenant has a problem with the arrangement, he/she should move out of the house and let the owner find another tenant.

They're not. The party leaders in this state are morons. The whole election process should be condensed to about three months. We shouldn't even have to start talking about this until July or so. Oh well.
-
Plus, he signed the lease ... right?
-
Yes.

Now that it's 2008 I suppose I'll start paying some attention -- in another month or two. This shit starts way too early.

Here's a link to the online version.

Nothing planned yet, but we just got our new passports a few weeks ago, so look out.

Whitty's Albums o' the' Year Extravaganza!
cryptique replied to Whitty's topic in Someone Else's Song
Good to see some more love for that Dinosaur Jr. album. -
I can't believe you all left so early! After the club mostly cleared out, Led Zeppelin came on and played for like three hours for the dozen or so people who were still there. I even got to sit in on drums for "The Ocean."

Wow, I sure didn't see that Wolverines win coming. Those boys looked pretty good today, despite the turnovers. Amazing what happens when your players are healthy -- particularly your quarterback. I was quite surprised at how much pressure their defensive line was able to put on Tebow. Good for Lloyd Carr. The man deserved better than to lose his last three games. And who knows, maybe this win will lift U-M back into the top 25.

My recommendation stands.

Whatever you do, don't start that exploration with West.

He doesn't have to. Why are Billy Bragg haters so intent on tearing him down? Meh. So you don't like him. Makes no difference to me. The guy was, at one time, probably the best lyricist going aside from Costello.
-
You've obviously never listened to any Jackson Browne. Or "the others." Billy Bragg, in his day, may have been my favorite of all the ones I listed. I assure you that's no joke. So did I.
-
Yup. One click and you'd have found it. Hopefully the admins will merge this one into that one.
-
Well, off the top of my head ... when they're at their best, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Neil Finn, Billy Bragg, Joe Pernice, and Jackson Browne would fall into that category.

Fostex T50RP -- try this link instead. These aren't noise-canceling or anything ... they're just basic studio headphones that happen to sound really good (in my opinion). I find them to be pretty comfortable as well (I like headphones that completely enclose my ears). Amazon has them for $74, and you might be able to get them cheaper elsewhere.
