  1. Yeah, that's totally stupid. So both songs have piano. That doesn't mean they're similar otherwise. I think it's unfair to the Spoon song, which I love. I don't much care for "Walken."
  2. You forgot: 4 to start new threads mocking the original light bulb thread
  3. I don't think they'll overtake the Indians, Mariners, and Twins. It's the Yankees, so of course it's possible, but I see them playing a lot of October golf this year.
  4. The look that says they're never out of a game until the final out. There's some fight in these Cubs that I haven't seen in a while.
  5. These Cubs are starting to impress me. I watched most of these last two wins, and this is a team that's starting to get that look in their eyes. I last saw this with the '05 White Sox. I'm not saying they're going to win the Series, but those Brewers better watch out.
  6. Fantastic song ... can be found on this album (and various other places): Over the Bridge of Sighs To rest my eyes in shades of green Under Dreaming Spires To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been (Chorus 1) What did you do there? - I got high What did you feel there? - Well I cried But why the tears there? - I'll tell you why - yyyyy It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful It's all too beautiful, It's all too beautiful (Bridge) I feel inclined to blow my mind Get hung up, feed the ducks with a bun They all come out to groove about Be nice and have fun in the sun I'll tell you what
  7. You better hope no one sends ObliviousToMyself's tamale lady to walk by your window yelling spoilers.
  8. Yup. Maybe "All Along the Watchtower" gets played a little too often, but the rest of that album is largely unknown to the general public. "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)," which is the only other song on the record that gets any significant airplay, certainly hasn't been worn into the ground through excessive use. I stand by my original statement
  9. My father just bought this one and likes it quite a bit. I may buy the same one, except that I'd prefer belt drive. I believe this one has a built-in preamp so you can hook it up to your computer.
  10. I always forget about this thread. Already posted this link in the RTT, but here it is again.
  11. Sometimes you have to edit the image URL a bit -- for example, if you see ".jpg" in the text you paste, but there's other stuff after that, delete that other stuff.
  12. If you're using Firefox, see my earlier post. Wait it out for a bit ... for me, it opened a new tab, took a minute or two doing something mysterious, and then I got a dialog from which I could save.
  13. No, your story was how it was reported down here too -- but that was from Thursday. On Friday, there was a reprieve, albeit one that may only be temporary.
  14. Sarah, if you're using Firefox, you might need to open "Options" from the Tools menu, click the Content tab, and temporarily unmark the checkbox to block popups. That's what I had to do.
  15. Yeah, but on Friday there was this (from wired.com): Net Radio Wins Partial Reprieve as Royalties Loom Eliot Van Buskirk Email 07.13.07 | 2:00 AM SoundExchange, a group responsible for collecting music broadcasting royalties, on Friday confirmed it has proposed new terms for internet radio that could lower fees for some webcasters. While limited in scope, Thursday's proposal offers a partial reprieve for smaller sites facing the axe Sunday when a payment scheme approved by the Copyright Royalty Board, or CRB, is set to take effect. Webcasters have said the fees would effectively force
  16. I've found very few people who love that movie like I do, so don't be too surprised if you hate it.
  17. Ted Leo. Start here: Spoon. Start here:
  18. Back in school, my group of friends would pass the bong during Quincy reruns.
  19. Your company has an iTunes network? People have been fired here for sharing music.
