  1. Arkansas will beat USC, just so you know.
  2. I call bullshit. It's a lot easier just to admit that you can't follow didn't read the instructions. I did.
  3. Wow. Overreact much? It's two live shows, not an album. Sounds like fun to me, and I'd go if I lived in New York. And yes, Lee plays with the CBS Orchestra (a.k.a. "The Late Show Band"), but that's just his steady job. His credits are extensive and impressive. I'd say he's as qualified as anyone to do this, and the other musicians involved are all top-notch.
  4. I walked out of a Shannon Wright solo show at Schuba's a few years back. I'm a big fan of her previous band, Crowsdell, but this show was one of the worst things I'd ever seen. The screaming, I'm-so-tortured shtick is done to death anyways, and she wasn't even very good at it. Unlistenable, unwatchable, unbearable. Fortunately, the opener was The Waxwings, who ruled. There have been plenty of shows where I wanted to walk out on the opener, but ... well, they were the opener. (Recent example: whoever the fuck that was who opened for Califone in Ann Arbor a couple of months ago ... some kid
  5. article The Army is ordering injured troops to go to Iraq At Fort Benning, soldiers who were classified as medically unfit to fight are now being sent to war. Is this an isolated incident or a trend? By Mark Benjamin Mar. 11, 2007 | "This is not right," said Master Sgt. Ronald Jenkins, who has been ordered to Iraq even though he has a spine problem that doctors say would be damaged further by heavy Army protective gear. "This whole thing is about taking care of soldiers," he said angrily. "If you are fit to fight you are fit to fight. If you are not fit to fight, then you are not fit t
  6. I don't have a copy, but here are the shows you should be looking for.
  7. Circulation of the Luddite Press is rather small ... I have to produce each copy by hand.
  8. Looks good! A question, though ... is there a reason why I can't access some of the profile features in Firefox? In IE, I can see content in the Topics / Posts / Comments / Friends tabs in a user profile, and I can add comments ... but I can't do those things in Firefox. Firefox ver. 2.0.0.2 IE ver. 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158
  9. I firmly believe that A.M. was the first studio album by Wilco.
  10. Maybe it's time for another "How disappointed are you..." poll.
  11. Wow, a poll on an album that won't be released for two months? That's different.
  12. Cell phones are evil. Yes, I have one, but I never use it. For emergencies only. And it doesn't have any fucking camera, either. The world was a better place before them.
  13. Doesn't exist yet, so far as anyone knows.
  14. For you oinkers, the two EPs bonus discs have been uploaded, both in FLAC and 320 kbps MP3. Info: Best Buy bonus disc: 01 - The Picture (Recording Session No Horns) 02 - Highways & Cigarettes (Recording Session Acoustic) 03 - Circadian Rhythm (Live @ ACL Festival 2006) Coalition of Independent Music Stores bonus disc: 01 - Underground Dream (Live Acoustic) 02 - Highways & Cigarettes (Demo) 03 - Bandages & Scars ( Live @ Bonnaroo 2006) I can't vouch for them because I haven't downloaded them yet, but I'm firing up the ol' BT client now to do so.
  15. Wait. So you're saying that anyone who likes this album just "blindly accept" everything Wilco does? Get real. Just because you don't enjoy the album doesn't mean others shouldn't. Yours is a disturbingly arrogant view. So you don't like the album. Fine. Don't buy it. Just don't insult those of us who do.
  16. So, I'm assuming Jools Holland would be the most likely keyboardist ... but what's Paul Carrack up to these days? That guy is the Zelig of rock and roll. Or the Forrest Gump, or something.
  17. They should tour with Crowded House. That would be heaven.
