Of course, it was only on ESPNU, so I didn't get to see it. Listened to it on the radio. What an almost-debacle. I take a little comfort in the fact that Ohio State only beat lowly Illinois by seven points, but jesus, they're at least a Big 10 team. BALL STATE! Letterman ought to have a comment or two about this on Monday.

For the last several days the little orange squares that link to the posts you've not yet read in a thread aren't working very well for me. Sometimes they're OK -- but more often than not, they seem stuck on posts that I read before, and sometimes get stuck there for quite a while (over multiple subsequent clicks). Also, the orange indicator occasionally doesn't disappear after I've read all of a thread's posts. This is a pretty minor thing, really, but I figured I'd mention it in case there's an easy fix.

Yup. Just head west past Pioneer High School and through the stoplight, and then look for parking in the neighborhood on the left. You may need to go a few streets west before finding anything, because they do fill up, but after a couple of blocks there's plenty of street parking. If you don't mind walking a mile or so, it sure beats paying twenty bucks. The neighborhoods closer to the stadium are overrun, as you might imagine, but if you show up early enough...

The silver lining in all of this is that maybe we'll be spared a 2008 Kerry presidential campaign. Too bad he decided to grow some balls now, instead of two years ago.

I don't think too much can be read into last night's Bulls-Heat game. That said, I think the Bulls are going to do pretty well this year. That's one hell of a deep bench they've got there. With luck, they'll be able to take some confidence from that game and get through their hellacious November schedule with a decent record.
