  1. This same guy yelled at Michael J. Fox to just stand still for once.
  2. Limbaugh must have slipped a few spots recently in the Batshit Insane standings. He's probably just trying to pump his numbers back up.
  3. What an asshat. I would remind him that everyone else paid the same twenty-five bucks he did, and it wasn't to hear his dumbass witticisms. When he writes a piece about how much fun it is to sing along at the top of his lungs, drowning out the sound of the P.A. for those around him, let me know -- I already have that letter half written.
  4. ...then I feel doubly old because I still think of him as the White Sox manager.
  5. Centro-matic - Tenth Anniversary Show, Denton, TX 2006.03.04
  6. "Our House" by CSN (&Y?) I'm realizing that I don't particularly like happy songs.
  7. YouTube is blocked at my office, but I'm just going to assume that's a video for "Walking on Sunshine."
  8. A friend of mine back in the '80s had a "Brick-of-the-Month Club." Whatever unsolicited snail mail pissed him off the most that month, he'd tape one of their postage-paid return cards to a brick and send it back. If they really pissed him off, he'd try to send a cinder block, or a second brick. I always thought that was fantastic. Never tried it myself, though maybe I should.
  9. Aren't you going to rail against me making petty, factual corrections to anything you say, doing it to try to look smarter than you, and to build a false sense of elitism?
  10. I think you mean "style." And for a number as small as nine, write it out instead of using the numeral. Thanks.
  11. Yes. But an even sadder one from them (same album) is "The End of the Rainbow." I feel for you, you little horror Safe at your mother's breast No lucky break for you around the corner 'Cos your father is a bully And he thinks that you're a pest And your sister, she's no better than a whore Life seems so rosy in the cradle But I'll be a friend, I'll tell you what's in store There's nothing at the end of the rainbow There's nothing to grow up for anymore Tycoons and barrow boys will rob you And throw you on the side And all because they love themselves sincerely And the man holds a bread
  12. I vote "neither." At least not yet. I'm not confident that either one has its shit sufficiently together to win out. Early adopters will get burned, on one side or the other, and it won't necessarily be the one with the inferior technology. Remember Betamax?
  13. Interesting. This guy has no doubt that it was pine tar, and he's in a position to know.
  14. I ran camera for a pre-show interview of Al about a decade ago, and he was the most gracious and accommodating performer I've ever dealt with (with two possible exceptions -- see below). He put a lot of enthusiasm into the interview (which was being done for a local cable-access show), and he was super nice to us before and after, with zero rock-star bullshit. A genuine and funny guy. The two possible exceptions: Billy Bragg and Henry Rollins, who have both hung around after shows I've attended and talked to anyone who waited around and signed anything that was put in front of them, without
  15. Glenn: ...and then there was that place in Kentucky. So yeah, I think I can safely say that I've seen a million faces, and I've rocked them all.
  16. Nah. Maybe if it'd been caught in the eighth inning, not the first. In the end this will just be a footnote.
