A friend of mine back in the '80s had a "Brick-of-the-Month Club." Whatever unsolicited snail mail pissed him off the most that month, he'd tape one of their postage-paid return cards to a brick and send it back. If they really pissed him off, he'd try to send a cinder block, or a second brick. I always thought that was fantastic. Never tried it myself, though maybe I should.

I vote "neither." At least not yet. I'm not confident that either one has its shit sufficiently together to win out. Early adopters will get burned, on one side or the other, and it won't necessarily be the one with the inferior technology. Remember Betamax?

I ran camera for a pre-show interview of Al about a decade ago, and he was the most gracious and accommodating performer I've ever dealt with (with two possible exceptions -- see below). He put a lot of enthusiasm into the interview (which was being done for a local cable-access show), and he was super nice to us before and after, with zero rock-star bullshit. A genuine and funny guy.
