  1. I watched a couple of episodes (a semifinal and the final, I think). It was a team competition, so you could have had that dream team with you (though I think it was only three players per team).
  2. I'd love to talk smack and claim that no one can beat me at '80s Trivial Pursuit, but I'm a little weak on the end of that decade, when I was in college and too stoned to care much about popular culture. No one on this board can beat me in Boggle, though.
  3. Walk in and do one of these: He'll be out of your way soon.
  4. I sure could use a frosty mug of root beer.
  5. If this results in music videos featuring a scantily clad Scarlett rolling around on the hood of a '66 Lincoln Continental, I'm all for it.
  6. One of the world's best goalkeepers in the world's best and most popular sport.
  7. My employer is very IE-centric, sadly.
  8. Bach: Violin Concertos, BWV 1041 & 1042; Double Concertos, BWV 1060 & 1043 - Arthur Grumiaux
  9. I've used Firefox since the pre-official-release days and have always preferred it to IE. People should be aware that version 2 is still in the preview release stage, so it's not yet officially released. It's at Release Candidate 2 now, though, so it's probably pretty close to the final release version. I'm going to hold off on installing it for a while yet -- anyway, version 1.5.0.7 suits me fine for now.
  10. Did anybody see that Petr Cech - Stephen Hunt incident? Cech has a depressed skull fracture and is lucky to be alive. linky Search YouTube for "Petr Cech injury" and you'll see the play. It didn't look like much at the time, and the announcers didn't seem to regard it as especially brutal, but damn. As a former goalkeeper, that kind of stuff scares me to death and always did. Chelsea lost their other keeper later in the match and had to suit up John Terry to play goal for the remainder (which was only a couple of minutes). What a disaster.
  11. I did that last Monday. Unfortunately, the next day didn't function any better as a Monday. Your mileage may vary.
  12. Ummm, yeaaaaah. That joke hasn't been funny in what ... three years now?
  13. I'm guessing the bid got retracted ... read the Q&A.
  14. Hey, I have a few questions that I thought might get answered in this thread (I didn't want to start a new one). I do not currently have iTunes on my computer. Before I bother with the whole iTunes installation, I want to know whether what I seek is available. I am interested in downloading this season's episodes of "The Office" so we can catch up (we just finished watching the first two seasons on DVD). Does the iTunes store have this year's episodes available? What do they cost?
  15. You obviously haven't spent much time in Michigan. Yes, U-M loves to crush Sparty. They love to crush the Irish even more. But the OSU game is the one everyone looks forward to each year.
  16. Hey, that's what being sports fan is all about. I was raised a White Sox fan in Michigan, and the local media was all Tigers all the time. Those kinds of circumstances can quite naturally lead to loathing, and that loathing doesn't let up just because a team has a run of bad years. Like any good American should, I hate the Yankees and Mets even more than the Tigers, but they're a not-too-distant third.
  17. You carved Colin Mochrie into a pumpkin?
  18. "Deserve"?!?!? Tell that to a Cubs fan, a Rangers fan, or a Mariners fan. The Tigers won it all 22 short years ago. If they already "deserve" another trip to the World Series, there's truly no justice in the world. Sorry ... I have problems with the word "deserve," and not just in a sporting context. (Also: yes, I do loathe the Tigers. At least they beat the Yankees, one of the only two teams I despise more.)
  19. They have the ugliest turf, not just in the NCAA, but in human history.
