"Song for Adam" - Jackson Browne. This one is really hard for me to listen to. A couple of friends I've lost over the years sort of fit the profile of the subject of the song. "Who Knows Where the Time Goes?" - Fairport Convention. Also has the distinction of being one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. Sandy Denny's vocal is amazing. "8:05" - Moby Grape. Heartbreak in five-part harmony. "Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd. Somebody had to mention it.

If the Cards win the NLCS, I'm sure Fox will play up Jeff Weaver's history as a Tiger as much as possible. Juan Encarnacion's? Not so much.

Happy Birthday Wendy! I feel privileged to also count you as a "concert buddy," though I don't quite have the energy for it that you do. Here's to many more in the future!

I think I'll have to buy ZoneAlarm Pro. It can do so much more evil stuff than the free version, but my trial ends soon.

Oct. 17, 2006 | Thank you, heavy rain that turned my backyard into a mud puddle and postponed Game 5 of the National League Championship Series Monday night. You let me watch a Monday night football game I'd been planning to ignore, and had actually been ignoring until I caught the halftime score: Arizona Cardinals 20, Chicago Bears 0. The Bears came back to win a thorough

I'm old and misanthropic and therefore don't go to more than one show from any particular tour, as a general rule. So, I really don't care.

Lenny Kravitz has been trying to re-make "Super Stupid" for years, and not coming close.
