I've heard that the "sacking" game that gets played at sean's house is a little different.

Of course, that's more likely to have been what Zidane (the Frenchman) said to Materazzi. "Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!"

As a (still) new homeowner, I'm definitely learning to appreciate the little things ... like the five minutes each year that nothing's leaking, backing up, breaking, peeling, etc.

Um ... yeah. We definitely did live up to that stereotype. I really miss hacking ... I enjoyed it immensely, and got to be really good at it. I haven't been in a hack circle in years, though ... some of the fun is sucked out of it when you're choking on patchouli.

Well, obviously no one cares, but the answer to this is: The Reivers, "Cowboys." John Croslin, the leader of the Reivers, produced Spoon's first few releases (and both bands are from Austin).

There are no longer contractors working in my house. I owe a lot of money to the ones who were there over the past couple of days, but now the house has returned to "normal" for the first time in a couple of months. Our basement leakage has been taken care of (with jackhammers and such), and we have new concrete drying where the work was done. The cats now have the full run of the house again. I think we may have one more contractor job to get done this year (a new back step), but after that I don't want to see another one of those people for a long time.

Today is my Thursday.

God, I hope that's not how it is these days (but I'll take your word for it). Back when I was in school, it was fools like me in tie-dyed shirts and bare feet and long hair, but we listened to Hendrix and Camper Van Beethoven.

I think that's the way it should be. The prevailing mentality that everyone on the roster should play is pretty ridiculous. This isn't AYSO.

I like brie, though I'm still not fond of the rind. But if you're going to eat a snooty French cheese, Camembert is far superior, in my opinion. My cheese list (today) ... this list could be completely different tomorrow: 1. Taleggio 2. English farmhouse cheddar 3. Cheshire 4. Zingerman's Sharon Hollow (a cream cheese) 5. Gruyere

I could have written this study fifteen years ago just off the top of my head. So to speak.

I've been working up a treatment for a low-budget horror film called "Dutch Oven," and I think you just wrote the tagline.
-
I amaze myself with a "Dutch oven" every night.

Your kids eat Communists? Last time I checked, they were still making Communists out of meat. If your kids are eating them, they might as well have a real hot dog.

I used to go by there once in a while when I worked in Skokie. In fact, I think I ate there once. The place I was thinking of was the Original Pancake House at 22 Bellevue Place in Chicago, though.

That is something I will never forget. Trust me.

Hot diggity. I didn't know it was a chain. I haven't been there in twenty years or so. Incidentally, there are a few in Colorado.

I think you can get a small free Slurpee today at any 7-Eleven. It's their birthday or something.
