I had to do this in school a couple times and, unfortunately, I never found a way to make it go quickly. I ususally just fired it up and went to bed. It takes longer than mp3 to wav because you're dealing with A LOT more data. Not only is the sound converted, but each frame of video must be converted as well. This is why it takes so long (30 frames/sec-->whole movie). You need to find a program that will convert your files to .vob files, which is the file type for DVD video. Go to keepvid.com and input the address of the video you want to keep. It then outputs a couple of options for you to save the video as. I think one of them is an ipod video. I don't remember what the ipod video file extension is, though. You might also want to get the free Riva flv encoder. Just google it. That encoder can change the native file extension of those movies to pretty much whatever you want. Hope that helps!!

This could be my lack of experience speaking, but (after MY buffer issues) I was really surprised that the audio/video quality was as good as it was. In the past I have often find these types of events to be sub-par when viewed in a streaming fashion. This was cool though, bring on Wilco!!!!
