  1. I am headed to Seattle in two weeks for a business trip and I have Sunday afternoon free to walk around. EMP has been suggested as a "must see." Anyone been to see it? Any other suggestions for Seattle? I don't have a lot of $, so cheap ideas would be great - places to eat, etc. I've never been there before. edit: EMP = Experience Music Project
  2. I thought it was made clear a while back that making a sign with your song request was the standard method of request...
  3. I think Post-War is his best. I got into him with Transistor Radio and worked backward through the whole catalog. Post-War is definately my favorite.
  4. That is so lame. Nothing worse than having stuff stolen from you. My car got it pretty bad on THE day I graduated from college. They even stole my fucking laundry.
  5. I'll put my stamp of approval on the iPod. I had 40gb model and the damn thing broke 3 times. I have since purchased a nano that I am super happy with. Granted it only holds 10% that the other one does, but I bet I push the skip button 1000% less. edit: I babied the 40gb too. Still, iPods are great.
  6. Phil Ochs - Here's to the State of Mississippi, which was rewritten by Pearl Jam and performed on Vh-1. Maybe they're giving you a hint.
  7. On some of the albums I have purchased on iTunes a "digital photo booklet" has come with them. I think these usually contain liner notes, but maybe not. Not getting liner notes and getting only 128 kbps versions of the songs is slowly dragging me back to the music store to buy cds. iTunes is just so convenient....
  8. Oooohhh those guitars are soo sweet. I looked at one like Jeff has and was just a little too steep for my budget. Awesome none the less.
  9. Glad for all the clarification. They seem like a pretty cool service, I know they will host your stuff on iTunes also.
  10. I was considering releasing an album later this year via cd baby, but perhaps that's not a good idea In reading through their information I think you, as an artist, can send them your cds and they will warehouse them for you. Maybe it's a problem coming from the artist/performer? That's pretty crappy if they simply burn the cds and then send them out. Was the cdr at least printed? I have this horrible vision of getting a cd in the mail that has been written on with sharpie.
  11. Nice black and whites above!! The one down the neck is a great picture.
  12. Yep. He was awesome. I wondered how his sound would translate live, and it was perfect.
  13. I put my vote in for the Chiefs. LJ's gonna light 'em up this year. Willie Roaf disappoints me, though.
  14. Yes, this is the one. Billy Wilson's masterpiece.
  15. That video is freaking awesome! Thanks!
  16. My money is on Glenn. I swear, I would do just about anything to play with a drummer like that. The flavor and groove he adds to the songs are simply phenomenal. And I don't think his technical abilities are showcased enough - like playing the xylophone with one hand while playing the rest of the drum kit with the other.
  17. Something like this happened years ago when (If I remember correctly) the Harry Fox Agency made claims that people were printing tabs of of OLGA and selling them. They eventually lost the lawsuit. I think this is lame. When it boils down to it, people just want money and closing down tab sites so people have to buy the books will generate some bucks for them, IMO.
  18. Well, I went out this weekend and got a good deal on some monitors. One of my friends works at Guitar Center so I flopped down $425 for a pair of M-Audio BX8a's. They sound good and are great to mix with. The family was gone for a little while today so I turned them up LOUD. Pretty sweet.
  19. right when you open a guitar case....mmmm..... also, cool water perfume for the ladies.
