Yeah - all during that PITB on Friday, I was waiting for Donna to show up on stage. Last night's 2nd encore Attics was nicely done --- screens shown pictures of the band during the tune - it was a nice touch. Also agree that the one-two punch of Unbroken Chain and Days Between was a bit much. Bobby wore a "Let Trey Sing" t-shirt - which was a bit funny.

Great weekend - all around. Great meeting you, too - NoJ - it's crazy how these things happen - it was fun hanging out -- and you got in with out someone loosing a ticket - woo-hoo! All three nights the sound was great - think I enjoyed the 1st night the best. I sat in the same section for all three nights and everyone around me were the same, also - all three nights the energy around us was sustained -- very fun, festive crowd. Lot's of singing and dancing. Great overall stage/video/lights and sound production by the promoter. The 'before the show festivities', as NoJ stated - were f

One time I got shut out of one Soldier Field show, because stupidly I left my ticket in my friends car (for safe keeping), I was away from the car when my friends went into the show and of course I didn't have the key. (My friends figured, rightfully so, that I had my ticket on my person) --- They came out of the show and asked what happen to me - I think they were more bummed about it than I was - Had fun in the lot regardless - think it was 93. (Flash forward 15 years from 93 - I left my keys in my brother's car before a canoe/fishing trip, again for safe keeping, and realized about 3/4 wa

Yeah - I am all for Donna --- plus it would be great if Hunter makes an appearance. Barlow just went through some heavy duty medical procedures - he's on the mend, but not sure if he can travel - it would be great to see him, too. Hopefully there won't too, too many guests, though - it seems like everybody is in town - musician wise. Below is the stage pic -- guessing it's legit, but got it from a board, so who knows. My section for the weekend will be 242. Definitely will wonder around a bit - I am assuming.

Only saw Yes once, during the Union tour, 91ish -- never a huge, huge fan - but the concert was entertaining. No doubt - the band is filled with great musicians - Squire being one of them.
-
Me too --- plans with friends are coming together, nicely --- cell phones makes this easy nowadays. Back in the day, every hour and on the hour, one of us would head to big light tower that was in the Soldier Field lot every hour and on the hour - to hook up with people coming in for the shows - which was always kinda of fun. Looking at a picture of the stage at Soldier Field - it looks like they took out a section of sets in the north end - so my tickets that are listed as side of the stage - should actually not be on the side, at least from the pic of my view from my section I saw the net.

Listening to Odessa now for the first time (via Spotify) -- never heard any of the early Bee Gees' stuff before - pretty good stuff. Nearly 43 and there is still so much stuff I never heard before - that's another thing that keeps my love of music from declining.

2nd Night's Set 2 - I still haven't gotten around to watch it, yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6fc_Cxe0dE

Yeah he definitely did - Phil and Bobby were trying to que him to stop - but Trey had his head down and he kept going - Phil just laughed...Trey definitely needs to do that more. Thus far, I am pretty disappointed in Bruce's role -- they are definitely under-utilizing him.
-
Only stayed up for the 1st set - the Black Peter was pretty dreadful. Enjoyed the 1st night better, at least thus far. I agree that the Bucket and Getaway were the highlights. (I do hope that they get more practice in before the Chicago shows)
-
I don't know - I thought the show was pretty damn good -- Trey started to open up a bit and Weir sang great -- definitely had some flubs and some of the tunes kinda petered out at the end, though. Hornsby was way down in the mix - which was a shame. The drummers were on, too. Looking forward to tonight.
-
Other than the UJB - I thought it sounded okay. Hopefully Lesh will give the lead vocals a rest in the 2nd set. With Trey and Bruce up there, not sure why he is singing any lead vocals. Trey seemed tentative at first, but warmed up as the 1st set went on. Bruce needs to be a little higher in the mix. Nice harmonizing throughout, too.

i always enjoyed Greendale, too - haven't listened to it in a while, though. I think my cd came with a DVD, too - can't remember though.
-
Finally got my Chicago tickets in the mail - must admit I was sweating a bit. Looking forward to tonight. Bunch of family coming over - grilling, bunch of rug rats running around - should be a hoot.

That's kinda of cool -- looks like Martyrs will showing the Dead shows via webcast, too - sounds like it might be a fun night. It's amazing all the events happening around these shows around all of Chicago --- even the Field Museum is getting in the action. http://www.fieldmuseum.org/at-the-field/programs/everything-dead-field-museum

I thought the below was pretty good - Mayer with Phil and others, including Stu Allen - Guitar & Vocals and Scott Metzger - Guitar & Vocals. Mayer had some good licks - the Row Jimmy was a stand out. 5/8/77 at Terrapin Crossroads (6.12.15) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSHw2F10GvY

It's nice to have Nicky Hopkins so high in the mix on the Midnight Rambler (Sticky Fingers - Remaster Extra - Live at the Roundhouse). I don't think I ever heard this version before - nice rendition.

Well the Amazon Sunday delivery pilot program was a success - just grabbed it off my front porch. Will give it listen tomorrow night after watching the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup (hopefully - no intended jinxing here.) Yep - all Targets as far as I can tell -- my Target had about 6 in stock yesterday.
-
Happen to go back to the same Target this morning and they did have have the Sticky Fingers release --- their exclusive is that you buy the CD and send in a code for the vinyl - they send the vinyl to you for free --- the whole thing was $17.99 -- almost pulled the trigger, but didn't. I do plan to buy a turn table with in the next year or so ---- so I really was tempted. But I can wait for Amazon order. Plus I have the record at my p's -- haven't listened to it about 10 years or so - hopefully it is still playable.
-
Yeah - I waited to my early 40's to start a family - and they suck up a lot of money and time --- I don't blow money on music nearly as often as I use to -- one is a the money thing, but another is finding the time to listen to the purchases. Music is still played constantly though out the house, at least in one room or another -- my kids are liking the Beatles a little more than I would like - but there are worst things, like their requests for kidz bop - but I not going to be the one who tells them what they should listen to. Music has become a background thing now as oppose sitting down

Yeah - I ended up going the Amazon route, too. My area is in the Sunday deliveries pilot program - see it if works. Heard the actual album doesn't sound great (too loud like Exile) --- Disc 2 is suppose sound good, though. Wish they would just release Disc 2 as a stand-alone. Think this is about my 5th copy or so of Sticky Fingers - my first was on 8-track. My record is still at my parents.
-
Nice piece on Sticky Fingers. Went to a Best Buy and a Target to look for the re-release and neither of them had it -- man, I miss actual record stores. http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/culturebox/2015/06/sticky_fingers_by_the_rolling_stones_one_of_the_greatest_albums_in_rock.html

Had a few opportunities to see him play, but never did - crap.
-
I had to cheat - I didn't know that they were thinking of those two - interesting concept.

Wonder if this kind of stuff still goes on? Crazy stuff.
