  1. Yeah - Would have be cool to see a concert like at the Metro. --- great pic - must admit, I get a headache just looking at it, it had to be a loud show.
  2. Not sure --- but if one pops up, the link will be posted in the In a Future Age (Discussion & posting of audio/video torrents) Forum.
  3. I know I said this countless times before --- but the above was my first show --- looking forward to it.
  4. Enjoying the below after hosting an Easter feast --- potent but pretty smooth and drinkable for a high alcohol content brew. Still haven't made it to their Chicago brewery --- friends have, though - all say it's quite the site.
  5. I don't have a problem with the handling of Bryant - I just happen to read a an article in the Trib this morning, where Bryant said he isn't happy about it (and I do realize there is no crying in baseball) - I realize it was a business decision - and probably the right one. He has definitely proven himself, from a hitting perspective, at least, this spring, to make the team on opening day, though.
  6. Seriously - White Sox in 4th - wow. Interesting how the Cubs handled Bryant, between that and the renovations, the Cubs seem to be on shaking ground heading into the season, from a front office perspective - but both Chicago teams should be fun to watch this year, for a change. (haven't been following it close enough to come up with any predictions.)
  7. hope everything was well grounded - yikes.
  8. My local place was out the Fresh Squeezed - he said his supplier is out of stock --- picked up the Union Jack - don't think I ever had it, before ----- the Union Jack was only about 2 bucks cheaper than the Sculpin -- I actually enjoy the Ballast's Big Eye more than the Scuplin and it's about $5 or so cheaper. My go to IPA's are Bells Two Hearted and Stone IPA. I belong to a 'mug club' at my local brew pub (Flossmoor Station) --- I never realized that there were 'trading circles' amongst drinkers, before I became a member a couple of years ago. Every couple of months the members get togeth
  9. Listening to the above on Spotify --- decent comp (just came out to celebrate the 50th). Nice to see some Brent tunes in the mix, too. Probably won't buy it, though will seek it out from the library --- on Spotify it sounds great- I imagined the actual discs will even sound better.
  10. It looks like Indiana will be adding the 'anti-discriminatory' language to the bill - so maybe the show will go on. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-indiana-religious-freedom-law-20150331-story.html
  11. I am listening to a 9/72 show tonight, too - 9/27/72 - Dick's Pick 11.
  12. The new one did mesmerize the kids into silence and relaxation on the little road trip --- so it's good for that, at the very least.
  13. Listening to DylanRadio.com this morning and the played Dylan's version of Restless Farewell from Sinatra's 80th birthday tribute -- great rendition. Heading on southern road trip this evening -- will listen to Shadows again - at the very least it may help put the kiddo's to sleep. Do enjoy the cd, though. Video of Restless Farewell performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F44DBpIyAh0
  14. I should be getting the new one in the mail tomorrow --- looking forward to it. She did a Tiny Desk (npr) somewhat recently - very nice stuff. http://www.npr.org/event/music/302900658/courtney-barnett-tiny-desk-concert
  15. I wonder who gets the money from the auction --- do the 4 members and Garcia estate split it up among themselves? I guess there is still a 'Grateful Dead Staff or Organization', perhaps they get a cut . I wonder if Hunter or Barlow get a cut, too. I don't remember the toilet being up for auction - that's weird.
  16. Definitely an interesting read -- sorry about the bad week, Crow --- condolences.
  17. I didn't know crap about him, though after hearing the tunes while watching the documentry, I kept thinking "oh, I know that song" over and over again. Also, you're most welcome Sir Stew.
  18. http://www.head-east.com/bandhistory.html All this Head East talk - I had to look into it - our friend's dad was an original member (Piper) and he was guitarist, not keyboardist. My brother-in-law took lessons from Rich Creadore in beautiful Sparta, IL . (I am sure everyone was wondering...slow day at work for me.) I see that they are still out there touring down there - no wonder they are more popular than Wilco...
  19. Remember a M&R Rush - but not Mahogany Rush ---- seems to be a lot Rush's back in the day.
  20. My electric kettle went out last year -- back to the kettle on gas stove. My electric stove went out out last month -- $500 or so later - it's fixed. NoJ can go my parents route -- kettle on gas stove and a cup with a scoop of instant.
  21. So far my current fresh press hasn't failed. (though I did drop it and it busted about 10 years or so ago - still using the same press, though - just needed to buy a new carafe)
  22. You should of asked them about Farrar. I suppose that is a main reason that Tweedy headed North --- every time I saw Wilco/Jeff solo in St. Louis/Southern IL area - he had something snarky to say about the area. (plus I don't think anyone really needs to check out Head East)
  23. I think he wrote that he was missing the next few gigs.
  24. Yeah Head East is popular down there -- A friend of my wife's dad played keyboard with them at one point during the 70s and my bro-in-law took guitar lessons from a member in the 80's --- I think every Southern Illinoisan musician was in Head East at one point. While I was down there, a friend use to book local shows for Head East during mid 90's.
