Yeah - his book might really set you off, then - best left on the shelf. I think Keith helped perpetuate the whole murder of Jones a bit in some of his interview over the years. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if Jones was actually murdered. I know I read one book on Jones a long while ago, but I don't remember which one.
-
Speaking of Jones - I had the below book transferred to my library - just came in today. I don't know why you let Keith get you so cranky, A-man... your Wyman bit was funny, though.

I just read through Patton Oswalt's tweets (during GOP debate) --- funny, funny stuff. http://www.salon.com/2015/08/07/patton_oswalts_live_tweeting_of_the_gop_debate_is_the_best_thing_that_happened_last_night/

Jeez - he doesn't like psychedelic tinged music, so be it. I am not a huge Beatles fan - but I can't remember the last time I listened to St. Pepper --- I listen to their other stuff a lot more. (Help,Revolver, Rubber Soul, White Album, and because my son loves it, Yellow Submarine).

Nice interview with Mayer - it seems like he going at it on the right angle, at least. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/grateful-dead/6655956/john-mayer-grateful-dead-and-company-interview

I read that an overall documentary on the Atlanta Pop Fest has played at some festivals over the years --- I think they have been trying to find a distributor.

Not to mention the 1st set closer Deal -- lot's of "Don't you let that Deal go down" ending with a "We quit" out of Weir.

I enjoy the latest Dave's Pick (4.22.78) more than Dave's Pick 7 (4.24.78). It is strange that he released two shows so close together, when he has so much to work with. April, 78 is one of favorite months for the Dead. Pretty loose and rockin.
-
Jees -- the library can have fundraiser selling off their Dead stuff. It is a great disc, so is Dick's Pick 8.

I wonder if Hendrix's set is as loose as the Allman Brothers Band show. Listening to each release, back to back, would make for a nice Saturday afternoon. Looks like parts of the Hendrix show was already released on that Stages release. (I don't have it.) I have been listening to the 4 cd Winterland release a bit over the last couple of weeks or so

That was California Stars was indeed great -- Haynes tone fit perfectly.

That is pretty funny - got mine today, too.

I remember seeing pics of 60 rock stars with record players in their cars.

This board is turning into the Hoffman board - pretty soon we will have to fill out our stereo gear in our profile. My goal is to put in a record player set up in my basement -- going on year 2 1/2 and still not there, yet. One of these days. There are great sounding CD's out there (Mofi's/SACDs/DVD-A) - so I don't think it's necessarily the format. When I bought my used Honda earlier this year, the Honda salesperson said that 2016 Honda's will not have CD players as a standard - just USB ports.

The new book So Many Roads has a great passage on the recording of Blue for Allah - great book over all.

That was cool. Well done.

Last weekend, out of the blue, my wife ask me if we should go up to Alpine and see Phish - which took me by surprise. After discussing it we decided not to - but definitely will get the webcast - if available. I listened to a recording of the recent LA Forum show yesterday - it definitely held my interest throughout.

My brother and I use to watch that Spiderman - forgot all about that.

Me and my wife watched Babadook a few weeks ago -- it was well done and freaky as hell. No nightmares for me, but I think my wife had one. For about a week afterwards my wife kept saying Baba-DOOK.

The American League is a mess - who knows where the White Sox could end up - though I am guessing not in the playoffs. They are finally playing well, though - it's finally nice to be able to watch and root for them, without wanting to throw something. The "after you make a catch, you have to be able to take the ball out of you glove with control" rule worked in our favor, tonight.

Bit of goth eyeliner.

I guess that Ramble on Rose CD comes with the current/upcoming UnCut magazine.

See page 31 in this thread.

Plus he is a hoot to watch play live - which makes it fun in a live setting.

Yeah - out of all the 5 shows - that Black Peter was by far the biggest clunker.
