Yeah - it definitely sounds like everyone was sharing their stash amongst each other -- it just sounds like Warren got a little grumpy (probably rightfully so - sounds the audience was a handful, but it sounds like Zevon was heckling the crowd, too) and the Dead just got giddy.

Listening to 6/4/78 show this morning -- pretty wild 2nd set from drums onwards. Donna is kinda all over the place during Not Fade Away, GDTRFB, and Around and Around ("Spit it out, Bob!" ). Sounds like Warren Zevon's opening set was an interesting one. I haven't poked around, but does anybody know if Zevon's set was taped is available anywhere? I have listened to 5/19 a bunch over the years --10/15 is not ringing a bell with me though - need to check it out. I don't own the Dick's Pick 29 --- so I don't think I have ever listened to 5/21/77 before (or least it wasn't on my hard drive until I downloaded it off of etree yesterday) -- the 5/21 2nd set is indeed a great one. Nice Scarlet>Fire to end the 1st set, too.

I re-watched Set 1 of the Crimson White & Indigo DVD last night - a show from 7.7.89 -- the above fits Garcia description during the show.

I did -- guess I must have forgot what he wrote. I just can't see Jagger lying about such things: meaning of lyrics or reasoning behind them - esp. while talking about the "head filled with snow" lyric.

It's been a long while - but who knows. The only time I was really disappointed in a Garcia performance was the 6/24/94 (2nd show Soldier Field ). The 1st show was a bit fun, but the 2nd show Garcia was pretty listless. It was the first time that I heard a lot of grumbling around me about Garcia's performance while at a show ---(I haven't been to nearly as many shows as most on this board to give a decent account, though). The next show I saw was their last - even that show had it's moments, compared to 6/24/94 - but that's not saying much.

I only saw the core 4 play together three times --- 2 times at Alpine Valley when they got back together for the 1st time and put on the two day fest -- the fest was great overall - their performance was pretty good, though I don't go back to listened to it very often - it was great weekend, though. The 3rd time was in 09 or so - at the Rosemont Horizon - that show was very dull and boring. I will be at the Chicago shows - hoping for the best, music wise - but I most look forward to hanging out with friends. I do have high hopes though, music wise, but it has to be really bad for me disapp

I am not a fan of Ryan Adams - but really enjoyed his version of Wharf Rat that someone posted a while ago.

My sister and brother in law are heading down to Nashville to catch them --- I still can't bring myself to pay the prices to see them this time around. I have seen them in the past, though. With regards to the whole 'snow' lyric - I don't know - I don't think cocaine was so prevalent in the band back in 1970 or as much as it was in later on. I am sure it was around, though. Jagger is still pretty open on his past drug use and in a recent interview advocated legalization of all drugs. So I don't think he would be trying to cover up anything. I always assumed it was about cocaine, too.

Hell - the whole Between the Buttons record would be cool - one of my favorites.

I think you can say the same for Please Go Home. Though the 'home' echo is pretty overt -- good tune though.

Nowadays - esp. with the Stones - insurance for all the musicians have to cost a ton -- guessing Taylor's costs didn't jive in the 'cost–benefit analysis' report.

I am not sure if the exact reason ever came out - I heard health reasons and that Taylor wanted more dough. Who knows. It would have made sense for him to be on this tour - since they are focusing on Sticky Fingers. Perhaps Taylor realized this going in and expected more money - esp. if he was going to play on more tunes throughout the show.

It looks like a cool house -- I would have stayed, too.

I read that book - it's been awhile though. I haven't listened to the Psychedelic Pill release in awhile - but I thought the tunes he played off of it when I saw him with Crazy Horse were great in a live setting. Since Greendale, I think I only bought Psychedelic Pill and Americana. Have the vast majority of his prior to Greendale releases, though. Listened to Weld , again, this past Memorial weekend - I always get a kick out of Farmer John.

Didn't realize Neil supported Reagan at one time --- yeah I heard worst Neil songs - but that's not saying much.

When I saw it in the computer system , I was hoping it was going to be an official release, that I somehow missed -- but I looked into it and figured it wasn't - but I had it brought into my local library for kicks to listen to it. Maybe someone who works at the library is a huge Tom Waits fan, ripped it and donated it --- hopefully they didn't spend money on it.

Yes --- I didn't see the Clooney interview, so I don't know what led to the handcuffing - but the whole bit made the interview more entertaining - to me at least.
