  1. Red Eyed & Blue without I Got You is like a drink without a smoke.
  2. Seriously, dude? KU's world famous Rock Chalk Chant evolved from a cheer that a chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, created for the KU science club in 1886. Bailey's version was "Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU" repeated three times. The rahs were later replaced by "Rock Chalk," a transposition of chalk rock, the name for the limestone outcropping found on Mount Oread, site of the Lawrence campus. The cheer became known worldwide. Teddy Roosevelt pronounced it the greatest college chant he'd ever heard. Legend has it that troops used the chant when fighting in the Philippines in 1899, in the Boxe
  3. ScarJo sold for $40100! I scoped out the winning bidder "bossnour's" recent purchases. Since the beginning of 2008, this rich clown has bought three hair straighteners, no less than five pairs of Pumas, two tweed blazers, a metallic bomber jacket, a book on medicine ball exercises, a Corvette headlight and two distressed trucker hats. Has Spitzer ever been spotted wearing a trucker hat? Is he a fan of the Puma?
  4. when Regina jumped off the boat, did she happen to jump over a Darhma shark? It's starting to feel like she did.
  5. Thanks for all the help, folks. It was a simple as turning the user account control on/off. ...at least it seems to work, I got wav files! Truly amazing show. Big Warm Fuzzies to all that help make this happen
  6. Thanks for the help, but it's a Vista problem...found this online "you can try this too: Also for anything that wont run due to compatibility issues, change the properties to run in XP mode and set yourself as admin. Works for stuff like FLAC Frontend and mkw shn tool, along with many other programs that at first gave me problems." this is getting spooky. I'm not sure I want to mess with the properties much less not sure how.
  7. ok...so I figured out how to show the extensions, and changed the "F" to an "f" now I get a Runtime error '75 path/file access error I tried adding a lower case "f" in front of the extension also, but this change made the file unreadable. ...any help would be much obliged. Is there another FLAC decoder program I can try?
  8. played on the only Apple I ever owned...
  9. Agreed. But considering He did the same thing when I saw the band in Atlanta earlier in the year, I felt it was more than contrived.
  10. I totally agree. The last time I saw REM was in St. Louis in '99. I wanted to open up a vein in order to get this show over. Micheal Stipe was so friggin rude to the audience that I couldn't believe it. "Shut up", "Show some respect and turn your cell phones off! I turned mine off!" and , "Listen to the song!" were all shouted at the audience during the show. I remember thinking, "what a DICK!" and turning to my buddy and saying "Brett...I think I am DONE with REM." Haven't looked back since. Granted, I was really there to see Wilco open for these guys, but still...what's with the

  15. I've picked up 'Exile' twotree times now only to put it back on the bookstore's shelf. Tell me I am doing the wrong thing! Tell me I need to read this book!
  16. In the summer of '92 I was stuck attending summer school in Lawrence, Ks. when I heard that 2 of my favorite local bands were calling it quits. Tenderloin came as a fusion from The Sin City Disciples and The Homestead Greys. This band was like The Butthole Surfers, Merle Haggard, and Howlin' Wolf all rolled into one. While all the hairspray-hippies in town were backing bands like Trip Shakespeare and The Uncle Tupeloes, I decided to hang my hat on Tenderloin. ...Then again, I was on acid for much of the early 90's. An entertaining article of their history can be found here if anyone rem
  17. not that there's anything wrong with that
  18. What better way to celebrate her life than seeing your favorite band? I'm sure she was with you at the shows, and I'm sure she was singing along.
