  1. Yeah, I know old subject...but I found a torrent for this film here
  2. Thanks for all the help, folks. The problem is solved. Since I work for a "mom and pop" organization, they had no idea how intrusive the search that they were requesting. A more suitable form is now in the works.
  3. Is this such a good idea without a familiar toilet to run-to?
  4. You're right! I will do this tonight after we close. Thanks for the calm-down.
  5. All good points and concerns, I appreciate the help. The business can. and does, have quite a bit of cash lying around, and currently employs 42 people. I mean, I can see their concern with wanting to know the history of the new hire, and I can see Jen's point about "different standards" applying, but it still is a slap in the face. I would be more than willing to submit to a criminal background check, but this thing is more than intrusive! They are asking me to sign something that would allow them access to 1) school records 2) medical records and payments 3)check writing history 4) i
  6. Exactly! I am a manager of a family owned business. I have known parts of the family for over 20 years. They know my history. They trust me (so I thought). I treat the place and all the workers there with respect. But do I want to grant them FULL DISCLOSURE into my life? HELL NO! I just think that they are looking into expanding their empire, and I am set up to be a guinea pig to what may come about in the future. Christ, by signing it, they may be able to check out this post and everything I have ever posted! I feel like nothing good could come from this... I feel like Randall "
  7. Ok...so please tell me that I have a reason to be pissed off about this.... So I go into work today(family owned business) and they kinda nonchalantly mention that they are promoting a new hire to manager. Then they tell me that in order to promote this person, they will need to do a background check on her. Then they tell me that in order to avoid any trouble, that they will need to run a background check on everyone that is a current manager and/or who has keys to the place. So I'm cool with that, untill I read the form... They are asking me to sign a full disclosure agreement which
  8. Is it true that the host of the show gets to pick the musical act for the week?
  9. I picked this up a few days ago and can't seem to put it down. It's an amazing study of what life was like in the Robert Taylor Homes in the years leading up to its demolition.
  10. dear ction, I always thought that a Wilco cover of "only a fool would say that" would be well suited. Is this appropriate? Would an "Alan Parsons Project" cover be more or less acceptable?
  11. all I know is...all signs point to Sawyer buying the farm in one way or another. Does anyone else besides me own the Xanadu soundtrack?
  12. For my 300th post, I wanted to do something special so I thought I'd post a pic of myself in a beret. That's me on the right, with the beret. My friend Jackie is on the left, without the beret.
  13. I would steal Hitler's wallet, give it to the magician, and ask him if he could make a rabbit jump out of it every time he opens it up. Then I would return it to Hitler, sans 40 clams.
  14. When I was in 5th grade, my Social Studies teacher used to make us play this game called "4 corners". It was a memory game. All students were required to write down a person in history on a piece of paper to which was collected in a hat. Each piece of paper was then read aloud, and the class was divided into 4 groups (one in each corner of the room). The object of the game was for each team, during their turn, to "steal" people from other teams by calling out the names that remembered were read from the hat. If no one remembered who you put in the hat, you got out of some bs homework ass
  15. dere ction, I recently purchased the wilco bobblehead collection at the show tuesday night. What else should I have spent my money on?
  16. exactly. We all know who have been standing near us for the entire show. I was on the middle "walkway" on the first riser, with the security guard right in my face the whole time (poor guy). I slipped him a fiver and told him that I'd be back. Not only did he keep a spot for me, he was exceptional for getting the drunkies who were trying to weasel their way up front back where they came from. side note: Buying a beer for the tall guy in front of you who is wearing a knit cap pulled to the very tippy-top of his head and asking him politely to remove it also adds to a more pleasant c
