Nesmith wanted to make an apperance on their last tour with Davy last summer but they couldn't make the schedules work.

It was a DVD Project volume, but if I remember the source correctly, this recent upload is better quality. --Mike

Damn I came in here to post that. It's Tengo, btw, but their name has been misspelled hundreds of different ways even at their home club of Maxwell's. I try to support independent labels and artists. I have done a ton of illegal downloading in my day, but I'd say about 80 percent of the records I downloaded where albums I had purchased and just didn't take with me to college and was too lazy to rip. A lot of the illegal stuff I have are either studio or live boots or complete discographies of bands like The Who, The Stones, The Beach Boys, etc. people who aren't going to be all that harmed

That's a great record. I have had a boot of the concert for awhile, certainly looking forward to getting all of that in DVD quality. These re-issues have been tremendous. As my avatar indicates I have really been enjoying the Ram one. --Mike

Anything with Leroy doing the Piano fills is fine by me, but I like Jay's mellotron part a lot on the studio version too. --Mike

Wow, Sweden/England was incredible. What an exciting game and comeback for the English. --Mike

If you like In The Court of the Crimson King a lot, I recommend this delightful proto-Crimson release by Giles, Giles and Fripp: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cheerful_Insanity_of_Giles,_Giles_and_Fripp. Very fun early progressive rock. I often find myself humming Digging My Lawn when in a good mood. --Mike

I did. Did you know Wade Boggs drank 64 beers on a cross-country flight?

I really got into that album in the last year. (Enough to make it my current avatar). The re-issue sounds amazing. I won the two disc set in a contest held by a Beatles podcast and uh "obtained" shall we say copies of the DVD, the mono Ram, and the re-mastered Thrillington so I have all of the music on the box. --Mike

I like the organ part on the studio version quite a bit. It was probably Leroy, but Mike was in that lineup also so it could have been him. --Mike

I thought he was off too. That goal really deflated them, they were just never the same after it. I know they were outmatched talent-wise but I felt like they played well in the first half. Their header goal was a beauty. --Mike

I know we should be grateful Everything is falling apart Everything is breaking And it lifts my heart To see you as an angel As some ghostly work of art Why don't you come to me now Know who you are

There's a pretty good full band version of the song in the 5-1-2003 Asheville, NC set: http://wilcoarchive....ilco 20030501/. The other times it was played in the 2003 tour don't have the greatest sound and in particular the quiet songs like More Like The Moon suffer on the tapes. Not sure about the two times it was picked up in 2010, haven't heard those sets yet but one of them is on the Owl's archives. --Mike

Welcome back, buddy. I've missed you around these parts. --Mike

The OK Computer one was absolute disaster. I think even the 33 1/3 people acknowledge that's the worst one of the series. I don't mind the ones that are more personal about the writer's relationship with the record, some do it better than others: The Notorious Byrd Brothers, Radio City and Wowee Zowee all come to mind as ones I really liked that did this. I agree very much, OCB, I have been trying and have even re-read sections a few times, but I am really struggling following Lethem through it. I have read Lester Bangs reviews that were easier to follow. And speaking of which for me Lester

The songwriting credits on Summerteeth were given to the entire band so the estate of Jay Bennett, John Stirratt and Ken Coomer (provided he isn't still trapped in a basement) oughta be getting a few royalties kicked their way as well. --Mike

Love the album. The book is really ambitious and I'm having some trouble following all of the balls Lethem keeps putting in the air, but it was a pretty decent read.
