If the criteria for being a good president was being a good orator, Obama would have my vote. I am amazed at how many people are running to support him because of the amazing speech he just gave or the hope he gives people. When I dig, I see nothing there. Obama seems to be as much of a product of our addiction to rhetoric as any of the candidates. Just my thoughts - not trying to stir the pot since I know there are a lot of Obama supporters on here. I will vote Dem, and I will vote Obama if he gets the nomination, but I dont get his appeal.

I have seen the Lips twice live and I thoroughly enjoyed those two shows and I will never see them again. The spectacle is the focus -- and that's fine. But for me, the spectacle is old. I am much happier to close my eyes and listen to a band totally nail a tune. That's not what a Lips show is about.

Well, if you want to be really good at it, I'd say the less winging the better. But I found it pretty easy to wing it on songs like She's a Jar. It doesn't sound great but it sounds good enough to give me a big shit eating grin when I do it. I started this thread awhile back because I was interested in Sunken Treasure too. At this point, I still haven't figured it out but I havent really dedicated all that much time to it. So, I'd say that winging it doesn't really work for that tune.

Great point. I agree with you. The more I think about it, the more it seems that a major point of the movie is that you "can't stop what's coming." I think that line is uttered a couple of times. No, it doesn't sound strange at all. In fact, when the movie ended last night, it wasn't until i got home that I realized I had no idea who ended up with the money... It hit me that the movie was so powerful that I didnt even focus on the central plot by the end! As for who ended up with the money, it could have been the sheriff or Chiguhr or the Mexicans. There were hints pointing to all three. The sheriff retires, Chiguhr gives a $100 to the kid for his shirt (like Moss did), and we dont see enough with the Mexicans to know (although it appeared that the grate in the hotel room was remo
