I have never heard anyone ever mention this band/album, besides the very famous single "There she goes". I think this album is a classic, and harkens back to the days of the Beatles more than any band that gets compared to them (Oasis, Wilco with Summerteeth, etc). (I suppose the Redwalls perhaps sound more like the beatles than the La's, but not in an entirely positive way). Anyone else here heard/like this album? If not, check it out, its really good!

Another hollywood bowl event: http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/tix/performan...ail.cfm?id=2876 I recommend buying them in person, as the ticketmaster charge is almost the same price as the ticket. I think we got the tickets for $7 in person, and the charge on ticketmaster would have been $7 + $5

all my festival money went to lollapalooza ticket/going to chicago to visit family. I am seeing Willie Nelson and Ryan Adams at the hollywood bowl in september though. That, and Videogames Live, where the LA orchestra plays songs from videogames.

they weren't doing a list of influential albums, chronologically, but rather which music had more impact. Sure, Elvis impacted the beatles by popularizing black people's music, but what the beatles did with that had a bigger impact on musicians to follow them. Thats the argument at least

Also, the older record is twice as good, not half. So you are in luck.

Do I mean live? studio releases? How much you like them? The world may never know

wouldn't it make sense to just get lots of bands/artists, ask them all which albums influenced them, and then you'd....have the albums....that influenced the most artists.....the most...?

If only the new Franz Ferdinand was an archduke....then theyd stop making music.

I prefer SEEING spiders performed live than to hear the album version, but if we are talking about versions we listen to at home, id rather listen to the studio version i think. Unless we are including the old version, and then all bets are off.

Park underneath the hollywood and highland shopping center/chinese manns theater. Its not stacked parking or anything, its not a long walk, and if you get it validated (I always go to starbucks, buy nothing, and they do it for free) it ends up being $2 - $5 depending on how long you stayed at the bowl.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this before, but did everyone know that The concept behind "Snakes on a Plane" actually comes from an REM song?
