  1. I hope you Collins haters get Sue-sue-sued-io for slander.
  2. I'm pretty sure Green Thumbs Up counts as a vote. The whole voting mechanism is pretty convoluted, but it is is what it is. Thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to help me out.
  3. I find that one of the most joyful things about being human is the ability to communicate with other humans. The technology used in that video is very inspiring, and I'm glad Neil Young is around to give those kids a helping hand.
  4. My Trojans bulldozed their opponents at the end of the game. Hope we didn't hurt anyones bracket too much.

  6. Last night, Leno mockingly said that Obama's score of 129 in bowling was really good. And because he knew he was being made fun of he said "Yeah, its like the special olympics, or something." I too was disappointed that he'd make a joke like that. He did personally call the special olympics and apologize, but now the special olympics has challenged Obama to hire a special olympics athlete in the white house. I think that would be a nice gesture. Also, the Special Olympics bowling champion (who averages 266 and has had 3 perfect games) challenged Obama to a bowling game. Thats a littl
  7. Here's a link to Richard Dawkin's groundbreaking paper entitled "Why having a birthday thread on the message board of a sell-out band is, in itself, selling out"
  8. Christopher Lee did this in The Man with the Golden Gun
  9. It's not bad, but nothing tops where the Doctor decides not to destroy the Daleks before they are created.
  10. I think my parents had a similar experience when they went and saw Gordon Lightfoot at the Gennessee Theater in Waukegan. Someone gave them tickets the day of the show and they had a blast in a crowd of 60 somethings (they are 60 somethings themselves, though). I think they knew 2 of his songs and ended up buying a couple of his records after that.
  11. Colin Hay from Men at Work was really good.
  12. I just finished playing Okami for the Wii. It's definitely the best game I've played for the wii. Think Zelda, except you have powers you can control by drawing on the screen using the Wiimote as a japanese calligraphy brush. My library happened to have the game, but its worth buying if you are into those types of games at all.
  13. Video evidence of an additional Wilco concert in Chicago within the last year Busted! (mods, please close the thread immediately)
  14. I thought it was going to be this one
  15. Someone just IMed me to let me know my Trojans won our little tournament thing, and get to enter march madness. I will be picking them to go all the way, and then I will be getting very disappointed after the first round.
  16. I think new blood on this board would be a very good thing. Shake things up a little! I believe you'll find most people on here are big Uncle Tupelo fans and thus are pro-Farrar as well as pro-Tweedy.

  18. Is it the best show ever?? Oh, indeed.
  19. You know, Norm McDonald has built a career on being uncomfortable and embarrassing. And he's a funny guy. ... Something I think none of us should forget is the fact that all Jon Stewart is really trying to do is top Steven Colbert's 2006 White House Correspondent dinner address. Jon never got the chance to make fun of a sitting president to his face, and I think he's suffered because of that. Sure, he gets some credit for nailing Crossfire and CNBC, but he doesn't yet have that perfect hail mary pass. Keep trying, Jon Boy. Keep trying.
  20. So what you are saying is he was doing his job well?
  21. The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.
  22. I think this quote from Watchmen makes sense here.
