  1. Jeff and the other Jay successfully sued their old record company for royalties many years (6 years, I think) after Uncle Tupelo had broken up, so lets not try and paint a picture where anyone who waits a while to try and get royalties is evil. Waiting a bit for more facts is a good idea.
  2. I would argue "AGIB" probably has something to do with the thread as well. In particular: AM BT ST YHF AGIB SBS (Emphasis mine)
  3. Not to nitpick, but shouldn't the joke be that they are going to surgically add testicles onto him?
  4. Finally, some much needed drama! This will put to rest any rumors of a benefit concert with Wilco headlining, I'm afraid. Obviously I have no idea of the particulars of the case, but it seems like Jay should definitely be getting royalties of some sort, although as far as the movie is concerned, I thought that was all Sam Jones's deal. I suppose we'll see. Hopefully Jay gets enough money for surgery one way or the other.
  5. Yeah, I totally agree, but if I had to pick one "officially released" Wilco track that I really don't want to listen to, its probably on there. I really like the version of Hummingbird on there, though.
  6. All these "worst song" choices that aren't on the Wilco Book album are probably wrong.
  7. Happy Birthday, Jen! I remember being 23 like it was last month. It's a good age! :dancing
  8. Leslie Feist is in the band now, so they fulfilled their "changing lineup" clause.
  9. Muphry's Law is an adage that states that "if you write anything criticizing editing or proofreading, there will be a fault of some kind in what you have written."
  10. Wilco didn't write the music. Music and lyrics by Woody, unlike Mermaid Ave. P.S. don't mess with kidsmoke, or we'll ALL get you.
  11. Or so you've been told.

  13. The Marlins definitely have had the Cubs number for the past few years.
  14. That was super exciting. It would have been shameful if this series didn't go to seven.
  15. I really liked that episode.
  16. He doesn't like you... I DON'T LIKE YOU EITHER!
  17. To put this in perspective, here is Obama at 10 (years of age):
  18. I am going to be in Chicago in a couple weeks for business, and I'll have a few nights to go around the town. Can anyone give me some recommendations on things to do or see while I'm here? I am into fun things, if that helps. (Happy Birthday LouieB! :worship :worship )
  19. Actually, for the sake of real scientific accuracy, the nearest star is eight light-minutes away.
  20. I just watch Mad Men to make sure I'm doing acceptable things at work. I figure if high paid ad executives are doing something, it must be ok.

    New album news!

For example, The Who Sell Out or Who's Next were not self titled albums. But they were awesome.
  22. I once started tripping out because I couldn't believe how good the harmonica part was in "Love Me Do." I'm not sure if that adds anything to the discussion.
  23. Yes, this is mine as well. Couple amazing songs on it for sure, and I'm glad it inspired Paul to aim higher, but I just find a lot of it very boring.
