Done and done. Good luck!

After 2.5 listens, I'm with solace at the moment. I really, really like the album, but its not hitting the same highs as the last two albums did for me. But I could care less - it's great!

If the copy going around right now really is low quality, I'll happily wait until Friday.

In case you don't have Easter plans tonight and want to catch a screening of I am Trying to Break Your Heart, they are showing it for free at 7:00PM tonight: http://www.emptybottle.com/home.php

I enjoyed that. Obviously, I miss David, but Mr. Smith did quite well. For an introduction episode, it was great. I like when they throw in a little time travel into the show about time travel. ' The last shot of the episode added a real nice twist to the companion, though I was sort of expecting it when she asked how soon she could get back.

This weekend is all about some dude who died to save the world, but then came back to life. Can't wait for the episode.

Maybe he saw the swan explode and figured they must have died, not timewarped?

I'm super excited for this, and my dad is off the wall excited. His dad was in Europe in WWII, so he loved Band of Brothers, but he himself is a Marine, so he's really gearing up for this one.

apparently he didn't thank his wife last year and was saying that he and the academy both forget to acknowledge deserving women...or something.

I'm sure your impression had nothing to do with Avatar (deservedly) being locked out of the big awards. ;-)

I really dug the live version of "All my friends are Funeral Singers"

An eyewitness who is also a pilot said the plane didn't seem to be in trouble and was going at full speed for a plane of that size, but thats just an unsubstantiated opinion...

this is definitely my #1 most anticipated album of the year now.

I haven't seen that good of a festival line up in a long time.

I think its a mistake to debate about whether climate change exists and whether humans are causing it. I think those of us who believe it's real and human's are causing it should not worry about convincing other people. I think if you boil down the position to "Pollution is bad, it harms the environment, and we need to do much less of it" then there is not much to argue with. If we get caught up in arguing over whether we need to look at the weather over 10 years or 100 years or just the temperature today, it sort of skirts the main point: We need to pollute less, period.

Oliver Stone certainly makes controversial films. I might even put Trey Parker & Matt Stone on for "Team America"

I believe most normal glass is technically liquid, albeit very viscous.

Not to be a complete self promoter or anything, but if you go to this site and vote for your favorite music video, you can end up winning a signed Weezer guitar. And if you ended up voting for The Singing Nerd's (me) video, that wouldn't be so terrible.

To the tough cop with a heart of gold - the guy who's always been around VC... Happy Birthday Analogman!

Yeah, and just to reiterate - I'm an Apple fanboy going out of my way to try and convince MYSELF why the device is awesome, so we should be taking anything I say with many grains of salt. I think everything you've said so far have been very valid concerns and stuff that makes me not feed as bad for not rushing out to get it. It would be interesting if it ended up being a niche product for hospitals and universities - the kindle is definitely better for reading normal books, but for a textbook with charts, pictures and graphics I would imagine an iPad would be the way to go. Especially if

I enjoyed reading "A People's History..." in highschool. I think, if nothing else, it was great lesson for me on the importance of challenging assumptions and "truths".

Exactly. If Apple thought that it was essential to use these things with the iPad, it would have included them. They are however, accessories that in some situations enhance the way you want to use it. But they aren't part of the core design of how the device is meant to work. There are multiple pictures of people sitting with the device in their lap watching video on it and if you're on a flight you can set it on the fold out meal tray thing. When I'm reading a book on a flight, I usually set the book on the tray and tilt my head down. It seems to work fine.
