So, it's pretty much a given that the band is/will be recording a new record over the next few months and now Tweedy has booked solo dates in December. I know I've read/heard that he likes to shake things out and refresh himself by playing solo gigs around the time they record, but does anybody know if there's some sort of order? His last few treks out hadn't really included much new material in the setlists, so it made me wonder this morning as I drank joe and pondered, will they have begun recording by the time he hits the road? Or, is he jacking himself up for vigor and inspiration to begin

Couldn't find any Replacements threads, so I started one (plus the Westerberg forum is a pain to post photos to). Btw, does anybody realize that there's new music recently available?

Out Jan. 22!

I think Jeff Tweedy is the rock 'n roll Zelig. Here he is checking out Keith's amp with Keith and Stu. I believe he jumped to an Uncle Tupelo gig after they made sure it was working properly.

Saw the show in Ottawa last night. It was amazing, like watching a lightning storm from a plane amazing. If you can make it, go. Too long song finishes be damned. If you get to see Billy Talbot audible a song to Neil, who then reacts immediately and heads to his pedals instead of receiving the guitar his tech is delivering to him, and that song turns out to be Cortez the Killer which is then played with as much energy and passion as i've ever seen put into a song by anyone (followed by a punk Mr. Soul and chest vibrating Hey Hey!), well that is a once in a lifetime musical moment during a show

You hit the nail on the head djp0910 (I feel so futuristic calling you that). This was my 14th show over 9yrs and I can say that this was the most "rock concert" I've ever seen them. The show was beautiful, the audience/venue were into it and a complete pleasure and the setlist was a perfect outdoor, Summer show bunch of songs. In fact, I'd say the band was pitching a perfect game, until a slight Airline to Heaven vocal flub, but that was due to fan interference. Watch the replay, the fans up front are clapping out of time and it blew Tweedy's concentration. Actually, the fans in back were out -
What, nobody goes to the free ones anymore? Just jovially lookin' for a report.... -from the East

Cooperstown Rochester, NY Shows #14-15 Abbreviated run down....once at Massey Hall on this tour, "evening with" tour in Scranton, opening for Neil at MSG, a glorious hometown show here in Rochester (first time played), Ryman Aud on Sky Blue Sky tour, Radio City, the two Chicago Aud shows closing out YHF tour (where Nels played as a guest on Handshake Drugs about 10ft. in front of me). I recall the 5 others sprinkled throughout and I actually do have individual memories of each. Always a great show. -
Thanks for the info! I'll troubleshoot.

Does anyone here happen to know what the case may be with the Paul Westerberg site Man Without Ties? It's been offline for the past week. I'm hoping it's only undergoing some maintenance, but's been awhile. Have you seen Lucky?

That's a great setlist. (As I literally began typing that previous sentence, Tweedy's cover of A Simple Twist Of Fate began playing on our local NPR affiliated radio station. Thank you Scott Regan.) -
Thanks for the review. They have an instrumental on their latest album that segue's from the previous track and I wonder if that's what they played. Maybe you're already familiar, but if not, they are "Burnished" and "At the Farm", respectively. Anyways, I've been curious about their live shows. Thanks for replying gogo and enjoy the Wilco out there on the West Coast. -from the East Coast

What's the word on White Denim? How's their show?
-
I've always thought the same. While we're on the subject, check out the similarity between the Replacements' cover of Rock Around The Clock from their Stink re-issue to Dreamer In My Dreams. Made me wonder if Tweedy & Co. had heard that cover before. I'm going to listen for that today, Alex Etc.

The forecast calls for Wilco...

I'm with you. Thank you Wilcoman. -
I saw that, very funny. I yelled at my wife "There's bbop! He's everywhere!" Including Ashes...(if you haven't already spotted him). Thumbs up to you bbop. I am indeed someone who regularly awaits your setlist/review. Hope to see you in Rochester....NY!...soon.

Nice shots. The show from the Highline two nights before is up on archive.org. They put Interstellar Overdrive in the middle of I Ride My Bike and it is pretty awesome.
