I could have done with more that actually took place in Twin Peaks, but it was great. Lynch still has it.

That's really sad, sounds like he had young kids, what a tragedy. There was definitely a period in my high school days where I got into grunge music and '90s alt-rock, and Soundgarden was one of those bands. While they never clicked with me like Nirvana or The Pixies, they had some great tunes and Chris sure could sing.

We're just a few days away from the return of Twin Peaks, is anyone else excited? I've been rewatching the original two seasons just as a refresher before Sunday but I might not finish in time. So I have to decide whether to watch the premier that night or hold off for a few days till I finish season 2.

Yeah the whole New York I Love You episode was great. They deserve an award for the sequence with the deaf woman.

I just finished season 2 of Master of None, I think it might be better than the first? I was a little nervous going into it because, well, not to sound too hokey, the first season really resonated with me. But I'm happy to report the second season does as well. There's some really good laughs in there, some great social commentary, and Aziz/Dev sorts through some very relatable issues. You can tell a lot of the show comes from personal experiences from Aziz and his friends (the 8th episode of season 2 with Denise is a good example of this) which is what makes the show feel so real, even when t

I haven't heard Chicago or LA but I have to say that I really like Seattle ...but I'm a little biased as I was there! I snagged the Notorious Wilco Bros roadcase this weekend since it was on sale and I have to say, I really love it. It's a great compliment to the Solid Sound 2015 acoustic show. Speaking of which since the sale was extended, does any solo Jeff Roadcase recommendations?

Let's all vote for AM! It's all about the deep cuts, folks. (Being There actually got my vote..... strategic voting, etc). Though really, I wish there was an option to vote for all the Jeff-on-lead-vocal-songs from Mermaid Avenue 1-3.

Yeah Amazon cancelled mine this morning too.

If anyone is still nervous about Amazon with the yellow version of the LP, Amoeba has it for a reasonable price.

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.

Reckless in the Loop was indeed pretty small, but the Wicker Park Reckless was great. Permanent Records was exactly the kind of record store I don't like. The selection itself wasn't great, at least not for what I'm into, and the guy working there wasn't very friendly. However, Laurie's Planet of Sound more than made up for that, I scored the I'm Not There soundtrack which I've been wanting for ages and my wife got the God Help The Girl soundtrack, which she was pretty happy about. Unfortunately Louie wasn't working but the two guys there (an older gentleman with long hair and a younger guy wi -
The wife and I were present for this, our first Living Room Show and our first time in Chicago. I don't have much to add, bböp (who I finally got to meet!) summed it up pretty great. The host family are really kind people, the Tweedys and their crew were all great, as were the 30 or so attendees. Everyone was very kind and gracious, it was just a joy to meet everyone.

Yeah I saw that trash a few days ago. Both the father and mother are repulsive. Screaming and hitting your kid for 20 minutes but then yelling "IT'S A PRANK, BREH" does not make it OK.

Yeah, he better make a comment on finally being ginger! It makes sense though, there was speculation the BBC brass wanted to go young, more Tennant/Smith-esque. I'm only familiar with him from Love Actually, which the wife and I hate-watch every Christmas, so I can't really judge him based on his acting, but he certainly has the look of The Doctor. If he actually already has been filming like The Sun is saying, that's very interesting. I know we see The Doctor regenerate a bit in the promos but I assumed that wasn't actually going to happen for real till the end of the finale/Christmas episod

I heard a lot of speculation about Olivia Colman, she starred in Broadchurch which was run by the new showrunner Chris Chibnall. Or Richard Ayoade from The IT Crowd, he'd be a good choice.

Yeah I thought it was decent. I liked Bill as a companion and Capaldi and her seem to have good chemistry together. Though now that we know this is it for Moffat and Capaldi it just makes me want to skip ahead to the end of the season when Missy and The Master will no doubt show up and things get interesting. It'll be interesting to see how this season does. Besides the two lackluster Christmas specials we haven't had a normal Who episode since 2015, long enough for the audience to lose interest.

Yeah, don't let us down Amazon!

Yeah me too, super weird.

Great idea. Jeff with Glenn on drums, or Nels on dobro, is always a treat. I was watching this performance earlier and noticed how great Jeff and John sound together when they're both on guitar and John's singing harmony. What about them going through some classic Wilco tunes together? For two guys who've been playing together since like 1993, they haven't collaborated much just the two of them.
-
I'll never say no to more music but I think the brevity of Wilco's recent releases has worked well for Star Wars and Schmilco. Because they're on single LPs they're easier to listen to, which means they get spun more than say Sukierae or The Whole Love. So I'm glad to see Together At Last follow this new pattern, especially since the subtitle is "Loft Acoustic Sessions 1" I'm sure there's more in the can or plans for more studio sessions.

Yeah I just saw that, I ordered that version, 6 dollar shipping vs 35, easy choice to make. Hopefully Amazon.ca will get it in stock soon and Kung Fu will be cool about cancelling my order.

BAM! Out of nowhere. I'm in for the boxset. Clear vinyl AND a jigsaw? Jeff, you know me so well. EDIT: 34 dollar shipping to Canada.....

Bands that you've seen more than you ever wanted to

Oh god, my wife is a huge fan, I think we have most of their albums. I've never seen the appeal.
