  1. Thanksgiving was last month!!! But happy late-Thanksgiving.
  2. I know I'm getting ahead of myself here but has anyone camped at SS before? Good experiences? Specifically with the complete camp sites you can rent? I'm thinking that might be the route the wife and I go since we'll be flying in internationally.
  3. It's kind of early, there's still a few albums coming out this year... I haven't got the new Mavis album either. But I love making lists and I made an active effort this year to seek out new music which I haven't been good about doing in the last decade... so here goes... roughly in order: Benjamin Booker - Witness Kevin Morby - City Music Mac Demarco - This Old Dog Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile - Lotta Sea Lice The War On Drugs - A Deeper Understanding Iron & Wine - Beast Epic Hiss Golden Messenger - Hallelujah Anyhow Ryan Adams - Prisoner Beck - Colors Big Thief - Capacity Fleet Foxes
  4. That's one heck of a setlist. Wish I could have been there. Thanks again Bbop for your recaps!
  5. Yeah besides a Nardwuar interview, Jeff on WTF is #1 on my not-existent list of PR I wish Jeff/Wilco would do. EDIT: Also this podcast was very, very, good.
  6. I think one of the new AM tracks is a Golden Smog song (EDIT: Yeah an alternate take of She Don't Have to See You, and Lost Love as well), so maybe something will happen? I'd settle for a just a vinyl reissue of Down By The Old Mainstream and Weird Tales. In fact I don't think Weird Tales was ever issued on vinyl in the first place. Two of the only pieces missing in my collection.
  7. It's shocking that this didn't end up on the album, great tune. So this is what, the second officially released Wilco song with John on lead vocals? I guess third if you count In The Street from the SS13 Roadcase.
  8. Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile once more in Seattle!!! They were really great! I was thoroughly impressed. I have a friend who saw them in LA a week ago and said Kurt was so-so, but he was on last night. The new songs sounded great, Over Everything was a little more rocking, I think thanks to Janet Weiss on drums. The coolest part was seeing them do Courtney's older songs with Kurt doing lead on them, Depreston especially had some cool guitar work. They only played 15 songs, none of them were that short though so it probably ended up being about 80 minutes. It's too bad they can't be a fu
  9. Wow, wasn't expecting that. I know Bob skipped the Concert for George and I don't really recall him doing anything for George, glad to see him do this.
  10. New page... better start this off right....... Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile in Seattle!!!!
  11. Yeah, it's a laid back album of good vibes. I like it a lot.
  12. Here's a statement from earlier today from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: “For almost five decades, Gord Downie uncovered and told the stories of Canada. He was the frontman of one of Canada’s most iconic bands, a rock star, artist, and poet whose evocative lyrics came to define a country. The Tragically Hip’s music invited us to explore places we had never been – from Mistaken Point to Churchill – and helped us understand each other, while capturing the complexity and vastness of the place we call home. Gord’s command of language was profound. He painted landscapes with his words, elevating
  13. Growing up as a Canadian The Hip were always around, on the radio, on TV, coming through town. For a long time I definitely took them for granted. It wasn't until more recent years I really appreciated them. When you think of big Canadian bands, The Band, Guess Who, New Pornographers, etc not a lot of them really sound Canadian, but The Tragically Hip did. The older I get, the more of the world I see, the more I appreciate that. Plus, you forget how many truly great hits they have, when they did that televised concert last year it was just hit after hit. I recall seeing Gord making public appe

    A.M. Deluxe?

The pricing for records is kind of all over the place these days. $80 is steep (especially when you convert it to Canadian) but it's on par with the Kicking Television and Alpha Mike Foxtrot boxsets, if AM/BT is as good of pressings as those boxsets, I'm fine with that. You're completely valid about the download code though. EDIT: It could be worse, check out this Paul McCartney boxset of 8 LPs for $240. And only three of them are good!! While we're complaining, where the heck is my Passenger Side download? Did anyone get one?? The website still says: Yet I never got an e-mail nor is th
  15. Yeah, speaks a lot of vinyl's resurgence I think (and maybe peoples interest in Autumn Defense is higher with Pat being a longtime member of Wilco now). I got really lucky and found Reckless Records' last copy of The Green Hour this spring. Good to hear that must have done well enough to do Circles. EDIT: Yeah, must have, The Green Hour was 500 copies, Circles will be 1000.
  16. Rumour has it Circles is coming out on Black Friday RSD.

    A.M. Deluxe?

Yeah I got a MacBook Air last year and didn't think of it when I bought it that I won't have a way to copy CDs anymore, but it really hasn't been an issue. That's an extremely good idea!

    A.M. Deluxe?

Yeah but think how great it is that one time you have a friend over, you put on an album and it's Being There on brown vinyl. Instant cool factor! At least, that's what I tell myself!

    A.M. Deluxe?

Thank you, that's very kind! Unfortunately I'm willing to bet once you factor in the $11 to US shipping, while we'd save a few bucks it probably wouldn't be worth the hassle of it. But if something changes I will let you know. What I need to do is live closer to the border and rent a mailbox in the US. Or just move to the States!! .........Maybe not till 45 is impeached though...

    A.M. Deluxe?

I know I complain about Kung Fu shipping every time but $46 shipping to Canada (that's $57CAD)!!! Insane. That said, these coloured versions look great and I'm a sucker for coloured vinyl so.......

    A.M. Deluxe?

For the record, that's translated from Dutch so I'm assuming it means 15 previous unreleased demos. Because marketing something as previously released isn't great sale incentive.

    A.M. Deluxe?

Yeah, since the standard version is a double album, I imagine this is the 4LP version Marijn posted about and Amazon hasn't fixed the page because it's just a placeholder. Amazon.ca had Bob Dylan's new boxset listed as Rouble No More for a few days but they fixed it when they officially listed it with a price, picture, details, and making it available.

There has to be some studio outtakes we've never heard. In Learning How To Die didn't John mention being disappointed when AM was released that only one of his songs was on it? I'm just trying to be hopeful! Here's an Amazon listing for the AM CD (currently titled "1"). Being There vinyl (currently listed for 1LP). Being There 5CD. All listed for December 1 2017.
