  1. I knew a lady who came from Duluth; she was bitten by a dog with a rabid tooth. She had to get a battery of shots for treatment, and the dog's head had to be removed. It was not a pleasant story by any means.
  2. What's funny is I've actually talked to the dudes in Wilco more than I've talked to this chick in the years since we got outta school, yet she's on my friends list, go figure.
  3. I got this on my Facebook wall the other day from a girl I grew up with: I de-friended her immediately.
  4. You, Sir, have impeccable taste. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  5. Then one day I say, "Fuck Phish. I renounce Phish. I vow never to set foot in that ocean again. That's how much 'fuck Phish'." That was seventeen years ago, and I have never since stuck so much as a toe in that ocean. And I LOVE the ocean! But why? Done with Phish.
  6. Very nice. (I'm posting in here just so I can easily find it for reference when the time comes for me to frame my own Wilco posters.)
  7. This will be the first time I'll be going by myself to a Wilco show. I'm getting a ride from OKC down to the show and (at least for right now) am planning on taking a Greyhound back to OKC. The good news is the bus station is less than a mile from the concert; the bad news is the next bus after the show doesn't leave until five in the morning. I'm not terribly familiar with that part of Dallas. Any of you Dallas people have suggestions on something to do or somewhere to go for the five or six hours between the show and the bus that won't involve me getting murdered?
  8. Never been to the Palladium in Dallas before. What's the capacity, and how quickly do you Dallas people think it will sell out? I don't know if I'll be around tomorrow and may not be able to order tickets until later.
  9. Newbury Comics. I've only been to Boston once in my life, but even then, I know about Newbury Comics.
  10. Wilco 1. 1997-11-05 Oklahoma City, Will Rogers Theater 2. 2002-09-26 Dallas, Gypsy Tea Room 3. 2004-09-17 Dallas, Granada Theater 4. 2005-04-24 Oklahoma City, Bricktown Events Center 5. 2005-09-22 Tulsa, Cain's Ballroom 6. 2008-03-08 Tulsa, Cain's Ballroom 7. 2009-06-15 Oklahoma City, Bricktown Events Center Jeff Tweedy 1. 2007-01-19 Tulsa, Cain's Ballroom
  11. Three years later, and things have finally come full circle. The first-ever Willrow (Ice Cream Maker Guy) Hood action figure made his official debut at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con: He's due out later this Fall. Thanks to everyone here who voted for him back in the day!
  12. I ask because I love Wilco, and I love Guitar Hero and Rock Band, so by that logic I think I would love it if there were some Wilco tunes in one of those games. So I'm really just wondering if they've ever said anything, one way or the other, about their thoughts on those types of games and if they would ever allow their music in one of them. Because I could really go for a nice Wilco three-pack in Rock Band.
  13. As a huge Pac-Man fan from way back when, all I can say is this is absolutely awesome. And I never buy shirts at shows. Hopefully they'll be available at OKC next week.
  14. Right on. Me too. Looking more forward to hearing that one live than anything else on the new record. Should be a blast.
  15. I Googled something like "wilco roadcase song request" when the new shows were announced, and it was the first thing that came up. Dunno if there's a link to it on the site anywhere. 'sokay. He's a Longhorn fan, I don't give a shit what he says, anyway. [sobstory]No, Lonely 1 was my first favorite Wilco song, and I've never seen it performed live. Requested it for Tulsa last year, and it made the setlist for that night, but they didn't play it. Killed me when I found out about that. So I'm trying again this time. They don't play it very often anymore--only four times in the
  16. http://www.wilcoworld.net/roadcase/request_form.php (No need to thank me--a vote for "The Lonely 1" for Oklahoma City will suffice.)
  17. If I lived in Bricktown, I'd still rather make the trip up to Tulsa to see 'em at Cain's. Bricktown Events Center is a dump.

    Dates in June

    I agree completely.
  19. Had a chance to talk to one of the video guys after the show. They're the same guys that did Sunken Treasure. He said they were filming five shows for a DVD called "With Six There's Wilco" or "With Six You Have Wilco" or something like that. I believe they were Nashville, the two New Orleans shows, Houston, and Tulsa. Saw six cameras at one point. Show was outstanding, maybe the best Wilco show I've ever seen. I requested Lonely 1, so it kind of sucks to learn it was slated for the last song, but the second half of the show was so upbeat and high-energy that Lonely 1 would have felt ou
  20. Anyone planning on staying after to try to meet the guys? I've never done it before and think I may try to this time around.
  21. That's what I was thinkin'--early afternoon sometime. Hopefully the weather cooperates. I believe Tulsa's supposed to get some snow on Thursday and Friday. Hopefully it's all gone by Saturday afternoon.
