YAY! It's pretty awesome when a comeback album doesn't suck. Love the CD, can't wait to see 'em at the Abbey. Need to get some of these before though: http://www.sensaphonics.com/prod_er_20.html

I'm not sure what "extras" will be available. We will have all the available formats of the album for sale, and then whatever stuff the label and others make available to us for prizes/giveaways, etc.
-
Does anyone wait for actual release dates anymore?

I meant to go to this, but got waylaid with Modest Mouse tickets and Earth Day. I've seen Centro a ton, but not Will "solo". Anyone go? -
The important question is: do you wear the tshirt of the band you are going to see or not?
-
I'd like to, we'll see what the work schedule does.
-
oh yeah, it's a long form bonus dvd according to this tiny picture... okay, so what does this mean for the people who get the vinyl with the CD?
-
Our distributor let us know today there would be two CD versions, one with a bonus DVD. I can't find any other info on it. I wonder what that means for the presales from Wilcoworld...

Just an early warning to let ya'll know Laurie's Planet of Sound will be hosting the Chicago Sky Blue Sky release party at the Hideout in Chicago May 14! Live music will be provided by some formation of the Wilco Ensemble from the Old Town School (the Late Greats) and YOU will be able to get up and sing with them as well! (Aimee can probably provide more info on who all will be playing?) and we will be selling the album at midnight! There will be free stuff too! More details as I know them...

Shellac and Dianogah (Jay Ryan's band) are playing a sold out benefit at Subterranean in April. Some people speak ill of Steve Albini but he seems to do a lot of good things. -
Just got back from seeing the real Yoshimi with OOIOO. There was nary a robot left standing.

The Decemberists: A Practical Handbook

The live show isn't terrible. Lacking energy is a good term, and a lot camera love is given to Petra "I'm so fucking bored get me out of here" Hayden. -
The concert on it was not great, but the documentary and "easter egg" clips are really cool. Especially priceless is the live footage from the Picaresque photo shoot.

Hooray! Had a feeling when I bought the discounted 3 day it would be worth it. After seeing of Montreal last nite, I would have been happy if that was as good it got the whole weekend, but this should be double awesome!!
-
I don't feel that way at all. I'm going to give an actual copy some time and see if I change my mind. As of now though, I'm not feeling the love.

Lily Allen - Alright, Still My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade I saw one of the above live, with flames and rotating drums and it kind of rocked. -

Very exciting. What album would you like to hear in its entirety?
-
When the heck was this show? Because Eli was at Steppenwolf!
-
The addition of a full time keyboard player makes them even more super awesome live. I haven't listened yet but I hear the new album is also super awesome.

Laurie's Planet of Sound is surrounded by 6 coffee shops within 2 blocks, and only ONE is a Starbucks! Time Out Chicago is going to have an article on Indie Record stores next week, though I still recommend the Reader as Lou said.

murmurs.com - the r.em. fan community is the first band specific msg board i found, in 1999. it has grown from an r.e.m. and off topic forum to 5,000 subforums including cooking. it's also where i met my current bff/roommate soozanne.

i disagree. britney's cootch was a papparazzi shot, she was not on stage. this was a public performance. if he had come out in a gorilla suit on stage that may also have been "newsworthy". janet jackson's nipple on display on a private night on the town is not newsworthy, but on the super bowl? rolling stone will jump on it.

i bet response would be different if it was jenny lewis' boobies or something. come on chemicals!!
