Published Wilco (the album) articles and reviews
craigwinn replied to Preferred B's topic in Just A Fan
A nice review, but how anyone can call that lyric "creaky" is beyond me. It is brilliant, polished to a high sheen. It works both as poetry and as words set to music rhythmically. In other words, it's more of what we've come to expect from Tweedy. -
Vinyl Spoilers (don't look if you don't want to see)

One LP, yay!!!! Enough with the double LPs that have just three songs per side. -
Hm, Wilco store suggests the vinyl version is one on LP; but the email I just got from Amazon is offering me the chance to pre-order Wilco (the Album) as a 2LP set.

Well it is obviously an homage. And, it led me to start listening to the rest of the incredible "All Things Must Pass," which I'd never really listened to before. Result: George is my new favorite Beatle. So, thanks Wilco. Again.

will be spinning Being There, Summerteeth and YHF tonight RIP Jay

"One Wing" is such a gorgeous song. It's the song Coldplay wishes it could write but never, ever will. But it ends too soon. Memo to Wilco: in concert, please keep going on that unbelievable chord progression for many more minutes. Thanks!

I do too! It's a KRAMFORS, for those of you keeping score.

Can we just have a hurrah for the fact that the new album on vinyl will be on one record and not two, thus no need to get up and flip after every two and a half songs? A running time of 43 mins--which is the length albums should be--on two sides! http://preorderwilcothealbum.kungfustore.c...-wilco-lp-wil59

Yeah, Gent is much nicer and far fewer busloads of tourists. Plus Wilco played a terrific show there at the Vooruit a few years ago, the place was packed. Pukkelpop is fun but I prefer club gigs to the festivals....

Looks like they still could change new album title to "Squirrel Bait Station": http://www.amazon.com/Wilco-Squirrel-Bait-.../dp/B000GXSH6A/

Amazon taking pre-orders, listing a release date of May 19

Wilco at Brewers game, Jeff throwing out first pitch

Tweedy is a Cardinals fan! As if I needed one more reason to worship the dude. -
That Hasselhoff review is an epic of modern journalism

Some erudite semi-Welsh person reviews the Son Volt album and takes some shots at Wilco. http://www.motxo.co.uk/story.php?id=4 Excerpt "The seminal band had cleaved in twain, and you had to choose a camp: Jeff Tweedy and his Wilco, or Jay Farrar and Son Volt. Wry detachment or earnest if misplaced activism? Slide guitar used ironically or without a trace of irony? The differences of opinion were endless, but you had to decide. The future of alt-country, if indeed one existed, hung in the balance."

No wonder it's such a great solo: Nels does a little neck-loosening-up there at 0:17. He needs to be limber.

unless it's a soundboard recording, i don't really see the point of huge files that give you crystal clear reproduction of the dude chattering away next to the taper's mic... and, cue the flaming!!! -
6th show could be All Covers

great photos, thanks!

Another great show, esp. the encores, when they seemed to be gradually increasing the volume until they finally reached ear-splitting. Jeff is clearly enjoying all his new guitars. They really rocked the roof off the place. For a good part of the first set, though they seemed to be a little sluggish, and even messed up the end of "Impossible Germany" -- but endearingly so. It turns out they're human after all!! High points for me: Roses She's a Jar Pot Kettle Black Shot in the Arm Too Far Apart I'm the Man Who Loves You both encores

most people don't know this, but Hasselhoff is half-Welsh. I have seen him running into the Langland Bay surf on Boxing Day with his little orange flotation device

Oh it's real alright. I was there. --Jan Michael Vincent

there's even a ViaChicago mention: "I, along with the rest of the audience, spent most of the time frantically writing down the setlist so that I could post it immediately on
