  1. I have it legally. Download code just arrived from Frocksteady, the Wilco EU store, and my LP is on the way. Haven't listened yet, just wanted to say the album is also out there officially for some people....
  2. Even if it's a red herring, those are some of the best song titles ever.
  3. Was just thinking the set lists this summer have seemed kind of like a wind-down before new material. Hoping when they return to Europe in the fall it will be with a whole new album!
  4. Because we've all been reduced to a meaningless sense of order by the crushing categorization of society. Or they just thought it would be fun to do.... Either way, I'm getting the album ASAP, I love Radiohead almost as much as I love Wilco!
  5. That essay perfectly captured the way I feel about that song, and about Wilco.
  6. And a Brussels show at end of October 2016: http://www.abconcerts.be/en/agenda/events/wilco/19555/ That'll be four years since the last time they were in this neighborhood!
  7. This is great news. Nice SoundCloud track and video, too. http://pitchfork.com/news/58021-pops-staples-posthumous-album-dont-lose-this-finished-by-mavis-staples-and-jeff-tweedy-to-be-released/ p.s. May I add that I never get tired of seeing that I have the same Ikea sofa as the one in the Loft! KRAMFORS FTW! Somebody alert Lotti.
  8. For an appropriate review of Newsweek, you'd have to convene a panel of grandmothers
  9. Yup, was wondering the same thing...!
  10. I got my Sukierae yesterday -- swirly yellow vinyl! -- and have to say I love it at first listen: eclectic, heartfelt, beautifully recorded. It's a Tweedy explosion. It's totally The Yellow Album.
  11. Shameless screengrab of the cabbage patch dolls that used to be for sale in the Wilco store
  12. This is really really good. http://www.mtv.com/artists/jeff-tweedy/
  13. Beatnik kit! http://www.retronaut.com/2014/01/beatnik-kit/ (sorry if it's already been posted)
  14. Well, he's no Admiral Freebee, that's for sure. Anyway, it gives me time to get a pre-show currywurst
  15. I've heard a much sloppier version of that on the Someone Else's Song collection, but this one is great!
  16. Thanks for posting. That was extremely enjoyable!
  17. Both Brussels shows for me too
  18. Wow. A think-piece in The Sun! Now that's something you don't see every day
  19. Thank you Berlin! And thank you Tempodrom for letting people go down on the floor and enjoy the show up close!! We left our coats in our seats and went downstairs and right up front. Apologies to the folks with tickets in the front rows, but this is rock and roll... An amazing show
  20. It seems like with their choice of venues on this tour (stately opera houses, theaters, and the like) the band are hoping people will sit. It's a shame, because I prefer to stand at shows and get into the music. But I also appreciate the ability to LISTEN to the music without people jabbering away during the quiet songs. So sitting isn't a deal-killer I'll be in Berlin on Saturday in my nice seat. Can't wait to see the reaction from the people behind when I get up during Shot in the Arm....
  21. The other possible explanation is that Jeff is now talking with an affected British accent like Madonna or Gwyneth.
  22. They also quote him saying "Touring has got better and better" when he almost certainly said "gotten"; it's nothing major but I'm a journalist and it bothers me when interviewers change quotes. The man did not say "Mum" he said "Mom." I'm pretty sure the Aussie readers of this publication would have understood that without the interviewer having to change what Jeff said. It's nitpicky I know, but if they're willing to change that they might be willing to change other words too.
