  1. Great job. The Bminsus2 (which you did address in the end) is definitely necessary. But I can't get the picking pattern quite right. I just pull-off hammer-on the D/C# on the second string when it sounds right to me. Thanks again. I only started playing around with a capo recently so figuring out that there was one and what fret it goes on without seeing it played would have taken me forever.
  2. Wow, thanks. No internet at the house right now so I gotta print it out and bring it home. Can't wait to check it out.
  3. I don't know if I'm right or not but I play the beginning of that first riff 5/6 rather 6/7. also instead of all those 7s on the D string those come down with the B string, like this: B-7-6-5-3- G--------- D-7-6-5-4-
  4. Definitely. Might as well get a band and do it right. But this guy knows what he's doing:
  5. I really like Tweedy's setup with the reverb and volume pedal. Once I get some kind of splitter I'm ripping it off. If someone doesn't know what I'm talking about there are a few threads that deal with this already.
  6. I think someone put those on the yahoo group. I'll have to check when I have more time.
  7. Yeah every version I've heard has the bridge all fingerpicky. I also think he puts the changes in the Dminor in the bass such as Dmin/c Dmin/b Bbmaj7. That is if what you call bridge is what I call bridge and what we call bridge is what the other dude calls Part III. (p.s. i'm tired)
  8. I have to dampen the strings sometimes. It was a burden at first but I've grown accustomed to using my right forearm and the unused fingers in my left hand to mute unwanted strings. I also play steel so I was used to unwanted notes flying around. And EQ is huge. Have someone else play your guitar while you listen though. I've had to change my settings to stop some serious feedback but until I listened to a recording I didn't realize I had shat on my tone. Sounded fine on stage, though. I'd say there are tradeoffs. If you want it too sound real overdriven and you don't want feedback I w
  9. I use M-Audio Delta. It has four inputs and four outputs. Works fine.
  10. They show the pictures in the Wilco Book. Highly recommended. Comes with a cd.
  11. Don't have a guitar with me or a cd so I'm not sure what you're talking about but this is that cool riff they play in it: -------------6---------------- -6-8-----------6-8--------------------- ------5-3-----------5-3--------------- -----------6-------------6--------- --------------------------------- ---------------------------------------
  12. Well, so people don't get confused HMD goes: Capo on 5th fret A Em/G G E
  13. I just read your response and had to vote again for you.
  14. Something I just did which isn't very groundbreaking but I needed a sound like a jet that didn't sound like one actually and wasn't a processed sound. I leaned my lap steel up against my amp and ran it through some effects (I used a chorus and octave but that was just because they were sitting on top of my amp). I put the gain on my amp very high so that the lap steel started to feedback. Then I ran my slide up the neck. Makes a cool sound especially if you make a sharp cut right at the end like I used it for a hectic noise intro into a ballad. Volume pedal works well in the chain so it c
  15. I voted for you. I hope you win. Good luck!
  16. Were they buying cd's. If so, what did they buy?
  17. For HMD, I play more of a Amin/C than a D7 but it's the same idea
  18. If you're not familiar with this pedal- and you wanna play AGIB style stuff- you should be. It's an expression pedal you can use to control any parameter of basically any pedal. It connects to a knob of most any box out there and you can rock it to control tremolo depth, phaser rate, etc. Buy 3 and use them all. What's that quote from? Edit:I figured out what I was confused about here. I just saw the quote of a quote and was interested in the first quote and when I wasn't looking I found the the thing that had been quoted in the other quote. Anyway I was just about to continue this
  19. Of course. She's a Jar (G Bmin C mostly) ALTWYS (Amin G mostly)
  20. Thanks for this. I needed this exact thing for a song. I stole it. Make sure you have a reliable remote. I played a show and didn't have mine and tried to use the one of the bar there. It made no noise except that Conan came on a television screen. These should come in different keys so I can do more stuff though. Hohner All-for-One Remotes: coming in all sharp keys.
  21. seriously I'd bet you one bazooka joe you're thinking of HMD. Now play it slow and sing about Joy Division
