  1. From the title I knew I shouldn't have opened this post. but seriously, Open letter to Jeff Tweedy: "This is a longshot, but you should bring back "Wherever" and have Nels do a "MoB"-ish freakout on the instrumental section. Oh,and whatever the first guy said "
  2. I've seen Shot in the Arm and the I'm the Man who Loves You during baseball games
  3. Exactly, I thank the new album for getting me excited again. The webcasts were amazing thank you!!!!!!
  4. I love everything you say except for this. I love the new album alot. It's my favorite record since last Loose Fur and Sonic Youth but we don't have to rip each other about fandom. This is music. Baseball that's another story
  5. Buy it. If you want to pay two dollars let me know I'll surely take your extra dollar.
  6. Good job. My grandma told me all about it

  9. Impossible Germany is orgasmic in a non-masturbatory way. Beautiful.
  10. http://www.matadorrecords.com/stephen_malkmus/ Same info but funnier. Wish he was coming closer to me. Probably try to do Langerado.
  11. Thank you. Definitely still available. I think the website said it's up for a week after its airing. Can anyone put these tracks into mp3's? "Crazy" is both funny, entertaining, and smart. Hearing Wayne Coyne talk, he reminds me of Frank Zappa. Thanks in advance if anyone can do mp3's. Will trade something else that's not available for purchase.
  12. "I think people may have an idea in their head about what it will sound like, but it's going to be different than that." -John Stirratt
  13. It's hard to pick a favourite Pavement record. For me Slanted and Enchanted and Wowee Zowee are the best two. Matador has done a great job with the reissues. Disc 2 of the Slanted and Enchanted reissue is unbelievable. Watery (Domestic) EP is perfect all the way through; Greenlander is one of their best tracks; and the live show on that disc is unbelievable. Hearing them live is outstanding. It always sounds like none of them individually really know what they're doing but something about them being on the same stage creates a transcendent group sound. They remind me of African or India
  14. Not the detail you want probably but the chords sound like Dmaj7 and Gmaj7(#11) In the solo Nels seems to focus on 7ths and 9ths: E, C#, F#, A Somewhere to start?
  15. I haven't seen it yet, but how was that song not included? Please tell me Lost Love is on there. Another question, any inclusion of Glenn solo material or is this just a Jeff love fest?
  16. Music theory isnt really importnat in and of itself. I've played with a lot of people who play more with their brains and eyes rather than their ears. And while nerdiness is alright in music everyone(?) falls in love with music first because of what it sounds like. Music theory is important when playing and communicating with other people and in the context of history. It is a lot more important in the context of jazz. The way something is written is important becuase of how it got that way over time. Certain assumptions are built into the language which all the musicians should be ke
  17. I hate to be nitpicky, but this sentence should never be repeated. There are many reasons why one of which being that musicians should be able to communicate and understand each other. In this case G# should be referred to as Ab because F is a flat key and because the note functions as a flat third not a sharp second. And Eb is a flat seventh not a sharp sixth. I don't mean to be a dick. It's just that I learned a lot of stuff about music from the internet and I would hate for someone who is just learning to be misinformed and confused.
  18. Is this the instrumental that has lyrics on the engineer demos? Or is that #2? I lost my copy of the old ones and only have the engineer demos now. Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question.
  19. Yeah, I tried to get the Bmin part down today and it's right when the band comes in. The piano and other guitar make it uninteligible, at least on the version I have.
  20. Don't get excited. I don't have guitar with me but it's starts out something like: C G C G Bb F Bb F If this is wrong just switch it like Bb F Bb F C G C G
