  3. I just saw Jay here in Iowa City. He mentioned that he's still good friends with Stirrat. He also said that if anyone tried to rush the stage to kiss him he would punch them out. Yikes. It truly seems he will never live out Wilco-dom.
  4. Are all box seats $37.50? Or are the further back ones cheaper?
  5. Who's seen him on this tour? How is it? I am seeing him in Chicago on the 27th, looking for some feelers. thanks.
  6. I know I'm an asshole for asking yet another time, but....fresh YSI please?
  7. i hate that people tie bowie to labyrinth. i never, ever, ever, ever, ever think about that when i think about bowie. ever. that's what all the stupid people with no legitimate musical or cultural knowledge bring up when they see my bowie poster. bowie's legacy is absolutely significant. i'd go as far as to say he's one of the most influential musicians of the last 50 years. bowie!!!
  8. I've actually thought about this a lot. One thing I've always maintained was that it's neccesary to throw in some more challenging material. Don't just play it safe (hummingbird, shot in the arm, jesus etc., heavy metal drummer, monday, etc.). I am Trying To Break Your Heart, Sunken Treasure, Misunderstood, include one of those three. Ultimately, though, I think that just burning her a Wilco LP is probably the best way to introduce her to the band. YHF, obviously, is the masterpiece, so yeah. Good luck with this.
  9. Sigh, why do I have to be seeing Bob Dylan that night...
  10. Sorry dude, I guess I forgot about that earth shattering affair.
  11. I didn't like this article at all. Wilco hasn't published any studio songs with Cline in the band, how the hell can the band be broken into pre- and post- Cline eras?? I also like the HiC solo waaaay more on the studio recording, as i do the song in general. Greg Kot's book wasn't shitty, it displayed far more writing ability than whoever wrote this shit did with his article.
  12. I most certainly will, chap.
  13. I'm seeing him this friday, and am wondering what to expect. Does he play with a band these days?
  14. Question for those who have listened: how awesome is Lay Low?
  15. Pixies-Doolittle, Surfer Rosa Dinosaur Jr.-You're Living All Over Me The Cure-Seventeen Seconds, Kiss Me (X3), The Head on the Door, Disintegration Sonic Youth-Daydream Nation
  16. I don't think most rock reunions are cool. As for this one, I'll have to hear the album/see the DVD to pass judgement. My general opinion is thatmost reunited or reuniting bands have already had their moment, and whether they're getting back together for financial reasons or for legitimate ones (the love of the music!), they can't just get that moment back. It's gone forever. This is just mysticism though, nothing but my very personal opinion.
  17. I liked them the first time I heard them. I got sick of them reeeeeal fast once it started sounding more and more like childrens music and once I realized that they stand for everything I hate in indie rock trends (see: the song "It's 5!"). How was CYHSY? Did they play new stuff?
  18. I looked through the rolling stones of recent at my friends apartment and was incapable of finding anything. Who cares anyways, David Fricke voted "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" as the #1 album of the year. YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKES. Rolling Stone is for tools, so is Radiohead, and so is excessive Beatle fandom. I love you all because we all love Wilco.
