  1. I like the idea of seeing the credit "All songs written by Wilco". And AGIB is also my favorite Wilco album, hands down. It offers what is by far the band's greatest synthesis of songwriting and musicianship. (Excepting Sky Blue Sky???? I hoooope so.)
  2. wikipedia's MMJ page says that MMJ have confirmed that they wont be showing up to bonnaroo this year. If this is true, it's very unfortunate. Damn it!
  3. The Band playing Hell Is Chrome... Danko on the vocals
  4. Add some more awesome Wilco B-sides to the collection.
  5. Yeah, treading the same ground as before here, but the crackle is a very small price to pay for the organic sound of vinyl. You'll have to get used to it.
  6. Bob Dylan has an unparalled power as a vocalist.
  7. i have no means of sharing it. it's coming out in USA pretty soon i think.
  8. Most importantly, it's one of the best songs of the last decade. I'm not sure if there really is a central message to the song. There's probably enough content in every lyric of it to write another song around. It's lyrics are pretty much a really, really good, really, really dense poem. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to interpret a singular theme, though.
  9. I'm listening to the album now. A lot of the first half is full of rock that caters to meatheads too much, that's the best way I have of describing it. I love Knocked Up, On Call, Fans, Ragoo so far. I'll keep listening to this.
  10. someone please hook me up with the whole album
  11. New single on iTunes "On Call." I'm absolutely head over heels for it. I love this band. This song def. sounded like it would be the first single when I saw them open for Bobby D, and all the other new stuff sounded great too. Anyone else fucking excited for the April 3rd release?
  12. I expect to see Arcade Fire, Against Me!, Bob Dylan, and My Morning Jacket to join, at the very least. It's already very exciting though.
  13. Thanks for knowing which musicians I respect and which I don't. Even though you don't. At all. John Mayer is a big piece of steaming sellout bullshit who panders to the lowest possible level to make money. That's why he has NO SOUL AT ALL and NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER FUCKING WILL and it comes out when he plays his guitar like a fucking wannabe. He's a fucking technician, a robot, with a fleeting sense of what it means to be a human being. John Mayer is a FUCKING IDIOT and I hope I never see his arrogant shit eating smirk ever again.
  14. You missed the point. I said that's what I think of when I hear J Mayer. Because J Mayer is an over-privileged sissy who never had anything bad happen to him, except for that one time he lost 20 dollars. SRV and the rest have some legitimacy because I feel their playing means something and has edge: JM is just a poser. Thats not much of an accolade.
  15. There's a great George Carlin rant in which he says that "white people have no business playing the blues. EVER. EVER!!! What do white people have to be blue about? Banana Republic ran out of khakis? Hootie and the Blowfish is breaking up??!!??" This is what I think about every time I see or hear John Mayer's pathetic, lame, shitty, stupid, self-absorbed, lyrically bankrupt, soul-less excuse for music. Fuck John Mayer and everything he does.
  16. From what I've heard so far, the new stuff has very direct, and basically less poetic lyrics than what I've come to expect from Tweedy. Nothing exactly matches "Hide your soft skin, your sorrow is sunshine Listen to my eyes," just to name a beautiful lyric off the top of my head. Anyone agree?
  17. I'm happy to see that Phone Went West is getting some love
  18. MMJ live is one in a million. The feeling I had when the One Big Holiday riff opened the concert, Jim James playing it passionately at the edge of the stage.....man, oh man.
  19. Mahgeetah Steam Engine One Big Holiday Lay Low X-Mas Curtain ....can't limit it to three, don't be so cruel in your requests
  20. I do despise the "Said Dance" part of the chorus. Stupid little kid indie vocals remind me of shittier bands like Architecture In Helsinki
  21. I like this album a lot. It's totally dark and spooky, and definitely progresses the band's unique and lovable sound. Not quite as good as the self-titled album, but not far off. Please, share your own thoughts.
  22. A Dinosaur Jr. 45 with Little Fury Things, In A Jar, and a cover of Frampton's Show Me The Way
