  1. I think Tweedy leaves the "fucking around" out of the music. He's way too sincere in his songwriting to ever try to pull off something like that.
  2. That lineup is an insult to the environment.
  3. solidified my opinion that Wilco is the best rock band ever brought in a lot of confused, indie-centric faux Wilco fans, the kinds that write reviews for Pitchfork
  4. pissed me off until I heard it for the fifth time or so reminded me how awesome it is to follow a band of such constant evolution
  5. changed my life forever did not need another guitar player quickly became and still is my favorite album ever was mixed perfectly made me feel that i wasn't alone
  6. The Band is 4/5 Canadian by my count... so they're not foreign to you
  7. sidenote, I got about an ounce and half of weed and my favorite pipe taken away from a "random search" by the tennessee state police as soon as we got in... I was pretty luck though, they only issued me a citation...I could've easily been in jail during bonnaroo I guess I learned my lesson an ounce and a half??!!??
  8. 1-Wilco... probably the best I've ever seen them play, just incredible. the delay before the last riffing on Spiders was so joyous, as was every moment of their set. I could have watched another 3 hours of that, easily. 2-Tool... I went in pretty indifferent, came out blown away. They're SO POWERFUL live. The lights, the loudness, the musicianship... wow. just, wow. 3-The Hold Steady... so incredible live in general. Like Wilco, they seemed to be having an incredible amount of fun on stage, and that was infectious to the crowd. I just wish more people would've been there to appreciate the amaz
  9. i hate what they did to this song on SBS
  10. It'll shine when it shines is stellar. Esp. Tidal Wave
  11. The licensing deal is disheartening. I've thought about it a lot of different ways, and I just can't get around it. To whatever degree, it does make me sad that it happened. But at the end of the day, the music is the most important thing. Until I feel like the music is impacted by commercialism, which I never have, I can keep my faith in Wilco. To this point, the largest rock and roll crime I can accuse Jeff of is letting commercialism capitalize on his music: he has yet to let commercialism change his making of the music, thankfully.

  15. The You Are My Face spot is available at Pitchfork.
  16. why should increased exposure for an otherwise underheard song from an underappreciated band be a bad thing?
