  1. Yeah. When him and Nels dueled at the Residency Saturday show on Hoodoo Voodoo Pat gave him a run for his money.
  2. I'm sorry if you're too ignorant to read my last post. It's pretty fucking simple, really. They have contradicted their past ideology, one that they attacked with such conviction that if they were to ever do so they would look like the crappy music making idiots that they now are.
  3. a new one: The Dodos-Ashley and of course, a classic: The National-Karen
  4. Well, since the latest album sounds far more like shit than anything else they've done, you're wrong from the get go. How does a band sell out? They sell out by valuing economic success over artistic success, and by contradicting their earlier, die-hard message. RAR was an album mocking the aspects of the industry that they now embody. They're part of the MTV/Rolling Stone/Mainstream Radio machine that they derided in their early music. But, most importantly, the music isn't there any more. It used to kick ass, and now it sucks, it sounds like arena rock bullshit made for middle schoolers. 'nu
  5. they're tremendous sellouts. the new album and general approach is a disgrace. that said, reincenting axel rose and as the eternal cowboy are fucking great, as is the overlooked disco before the breakdown ep.
  6. Stockholm Syndrome You Can Have It All Sugarcube I Heard You Looking ...i dunno...
  7. Forgive me for posting something that's possibly already been covered, but I was wondering if anyone can PM me with a recent live mp3 of Hotel Arizona, with Nels ripping the shit out of it as he did at the Chicago Residency. God I hope someone can be of help. Thanks a bunch.
  8. i will fucking kill myself if i ever see this happen. go sox and forever curse the cubby swine.
  9. http://www.thematthewbryant.com/Beer%2030.JPG 'nuff said.
  10. As a standalone Highly Suspicious isn't so bad. It's a really fun and original song. But it's (seeming) insincerity kind of mucks up the flow of the album.
  11. The Beeper King. Man, I hope we haven't seen the last of this guy.
  12. I'm in college and walk everywhere, maybe 3-4 miles/day. It's pretty awesome and free.
  13. Miller Lite is nothing to be upset about. Yuengling is the best but it's not available east of Ohio. Grain Belt is a very, very excellent middle price range beer, and in fact one of my favorite beers period.
  14. I love this song a lot. I'd love to see Jeff play it solo more than seeing the band play it, I think.
  15. I'm enjoying it a lot so far. It's all over the place. I kind of saw this coming when I looked the Okonokos liner notes. You certainly can't complain about lack of originality, or lack of talent either. Mmmmmm it's about time this fucker leaked.
  16. one of the most amazing songs ever
  17. amen. might be the most important/substantial thing bejar has done. him and the band have created this totally unique and really impressive aesthetic. i'm crazy about it. the title of the album couldn't describe the music more perfectly.
  18. I really love this album a lot, it's one of my favorite '07 releases (along with Destroyer, Sun Kil Moon). What does everyone think?
  19. Does anyone have the liner notes for this that's willing to share them... I know that literally dozens of notables play on this album and I'm really curious as to the details. I think I heard that J Mascis is on the album, and I think that I can hear him on "Backed Out On The..."
  20. Dinosaur Jr. is the loudest band I have ever seen, with no others coming close. At all. And I've seen Tool live. Dinosaur Jr. is a lot louder. And Awesome. I'll be in Ireland when this happens, and I'm kind of jealous of you all.
  21. Hopefully Stay Positive is better than B+G, because B+G, which was a great listen but a lot worse than Seperation Sunday.
