I've finally gotten the new one. Gotta say, so far it's kind of B minus to me. Totally pleasant, kind of on the Brian Eno tip at times, just not as thrilling as all of the other releases I've picked up from them.

To try an be very open minded: Some moderates have suggested that part of the progress (and then only part) in N Korea has been the way Kim responded to an atypical, grandstanding American figure. If there can ever be anything approaching a "Trump Doctrine" it would be an effectiveness to communicating to tyrants the way they understand- like a military dictator might. Maybe Iran might give even more ground. I don't actually believe any of that will work, but it's my best "devil's advocate" response.

Crap, didn't know that about Diaz either. I still think he wrote a great book, but I might not go out and buy the next one.

I got the new 33 1/3 series on Jawbreaker "24 Hour Revenge Therapy" and Fugazi "In on the Killtaker". Both have been great. The Jawbreaker one got a little silly with Aristotle quotes, but only slightly pretentious. Jawbreaker was after all a literary band.

That looks really nice! We're looking at visiting both Vancouver, and Victoria/Vancouver Island. So we're kind of thinking of spending a couple nights in a hotel in one place, and closer to a week in an Air BnB in another.
