Wow. Star Wars as top pick! Bold. I find it satisfying that a Wilco fan can rank the newest album as tops after it's had nearly a year to settle in. But we should be discussing Radiohead. The controversial albums seem to be KoL and HttT. Pablo is kind of their AM, a direct and simple debut with few hints of the adventurous explorations to come- you kind of either go for that or you don't. But KoL divides people with its gritty digital weirdness. Many people here (myself included) have it ranked in the lower half. Hail is kind of their W(tA). It's sort of a supposed "return to form", or a "

SUPER interesting. Thanks for sharing. We form opinions on this based on attitudes and feelings. It's good to have some information in the mix. It turns out the 80's were not a good time for political integrity. -

Again, support for Trump means putting faith in him not saying what he means. Clinton's times of being disingenuous are a reason to critique her (which is reasonable), whereas many people are depending on Trump being disingenuous. That's a strange case to make to vote for a candidate: Don't worry, he's lying- it'll be fine. -

The real question is, as someone who feels passionate about illegal immigration, do you feel confidence in a candidate who wishes to spend 20 billion on a wall that will bring up a bunch of eminent domain issues with your cattle rancher buddies? -

You see what happens when you use something that's true for some people to be true for their group. It'd be like me saying white male gun enthusiasts shoot up schools. True in a sense but perhaps not a fair way to approach the subject of white guys with guns. -

Interesting (thanks for indulging). One notable fact is that the pamphlet controversy happened a decade ago. I wouldn't doubt the Mexican government issues statements supporting the safety and welfare of its citizens who choose to cross the border. I would if I were president of a nation. What's interesting is the rhetoric is hitting a new high from the right while immigration from Mexicans is hitting a ten year low. By the numbers this damned liberal Obama administration has had a tougher immigration policy than Bush. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/11/20/what-we-know-about-il -

Sorry, this is going the other way- the negative way... but for what it's worth, I don't love much of anything made by Danelectro, Behringer or DOD. The Ernie Ball volume pedals are solid, but a volume pedal is kind of a utilitarian device to express your swells (like Nels) or if you like fooling with backing off how hard you hit an overdriven amp- kind of a cut to clean idea. Phaser is an acquired taste. If you're into it I'll bet you can find a winner among the Phasers you've listed, most probably the Ibanez. I don't know Jax stuff, or LAL so I can't speak to those.

So we can get behind Trump, if we don't believe what he says? -

True, but are you suggesting that Donald Trump is not racist? I don't know that the Mexican government is at the forefront of advocating for illegal immigrants in the U.S. Even if they were, what are you advocating here.... eye for an eye ethics? I think this is fair. I've seen it happen. -

Kevin doesn't always give the most seductive invitation across the aisle.... but I'm curious too. I don't recall Hixter mentioning any support for Trump. Most people in the center, left, or right have been criticizing NAFTA. People on the left dislike his welfare reform and prison policies. People on the right.... I'm not sure. Clinton seems like a fairly conservative figure to me. He slashed budgets and got the U.S. back in black like ACDC. -

The only lyrics that bug me are "You Satellite" and then only because the instrumental performance is so powerful it seems a waste to put "blah" lyrics on top. Absurdity on the rock and rollers is fun to me though.

I'm going to have to download it. Neither single that they leaked totally floored me, but I often don't get into a song until I hear it in album context. I'll have to drive around and absorb it all.

You are not a wimp and that's not selling out. You bring to mind the most frustrating thing to me about my fellow progressives. What is the cowardice of investing your vote in someone viable and objectively better? What is courageous or superior about refusing to participate and watching a madman take the controls? It's like people think their damn vote is something to put up on a mantle or that it's a tshirt of their favorite political band. It's really a two minute, mail in contribution to a highering committee where it's already been narrowed down to two candidates. I suppose some libe -

Right? I think there are some very fair criticisms of Hilary, but my Bernie friends have made Facebook intolerable with their vitriol. They would stop at nothing short of throwing Clinton in prison for being a little too slick (maybe a little slimy). At the end of the day I think four years of Clinton have the potential to continue the improvements we've seen in the last 8. At worst, she's a safer bet than the alternative. -
Rockies are back in 1st after crushing the Diamond Backs. Rookie short stop Trevor Story tied an mlb record for home runs.

Suggestions to replace a dying 160gb iPod Classic?
lost highway replied to Magnetized's topic in Someone Else's Song
I'm seeing a trend here. My ipod classic fell after 10 years and 150 gigs of music from 7-8 different computers (half of which belonged to family and friends) which I managed manually. One drop on the sidewalk and it was all over. The fact that they quit making the classic was the first indicator of the great apple decline. I'll probably buy a used one. -

Too difficult. I think that one is the most "studio created" of that album, and they said they never figured out how to put all of those pieces together in a live performance. I think they totally could with minor modifications and it would be incredibly exciting, but that's easy for me to say.

The Jayhawks (including Louris, Olson, and related)

I was streaming some new Jayhawks on NPR today. Sounding good, real good. Oddly their new stuff reminds me of Guided By Voices.
