I'd like to buy in if any openings...or act as alternate if someone drops out. I'll be there Tuesday- always wear a hat, have black and white jacket- if anyone wants to talk.

Old Town School of Folk 50th Anniversary
what i once was replied to nalafej's topic in After The Show
Higher Register...seems to be his choice of late. He was wonderful...sat with a friends and Old Town instructor, surrounded by some of his fellow instructors and students in the nose bleed section (hell of a nice guy invited us and gave up row D to sit with us). Anyway it was manys first Tweedy experience and I sensed initial indignation that Jeff had been chosen as headliner. They seemed to have really enjoyed his performance- esp when he played Guthrie lyrics. Jeff introduced himself with debts to artists in Old Town ranks- that appeased some of the virgins. It was a great night, went beca -
Has anyone heard any rumors regarding Thanksgiving weekend concerts at the Auditorium in Chicago?? Its a fine tradition that ought to be upheld...any possibility?

Great Show- great crowd...apart from inappropriate clapping...WORST SOUND I EVER HEARD!!! Traveled a bit during performance-some areas of the room were vocal heavy- others all Nels. Walking out heard two guys discussing concert-one a Wilco fan the other possibly 1st encounter-at least live. One said he felt the noise became so enveloping that he lost melodies completely for minutes on end. The second replied that we enjoyed Wilco...they sounded like THE ROLLING STONES!!!! Jeff and Mick-seems reasonable-esp the stage moves. Another rave on the Rave...smoking...the smoke was so thick that in som

Once again, great crowd for Indy (last year's crowd at the Murat wasn't in it), band looked like they were having the time of their lives being in a rock band, and the songs were en fuego, even the mellow ones! Great show- Chicago crowd energy in the audience and the band seemed to be having a blast. John seemed to be smiling through the whole performance. Glen was amazing and Jeff was in top form- sounded better than on SBS. Happy to see Michael interacting with the crowd. Saw Wilco at Murat for a fundraiser a couple years ago and the crowd was so disappointing. Not last night- except for t

That there is a controversy over a decision to sell music by people in the music business spins my mind. Jeff and Wilco are lucky to be able to make a living playing music-sure- but they are a very hard working band. I check their concert schedule- they must perform over a hundred nights a year, the travel has to be brutal and ask anyone who travels for their business-its no picnic. Being way from family and friends, arriving with little control over your situation, and forget any control over diet, sleep and exercise. This band earns every penny the hard way.

Error message on subscription purchase
what i once was replied to what i once was's topic in Speakers Speaking In Code
Thanks Solace... and thanks to whoever is footing the bill. -
I've been trying to make a subscription payment for two months. Each time I try I receive an error message informing me that I have not chosen a subscription package. No package has been listed to choose from...what am I missing?

can't believe anyone mourning over seat locations-or would pass up tickets because of location! best i've ever purchased in Auditorium was row T far left-worst-last row in house. wouldn't have missed that performance so jealous- have husbands family in town for Thanksgiving-invited all to attend- no takers -so I'm stuck watching football or playing charades ( i do love charades but that will be a week long game) Anyway hope you all have a great time and being there is being there-stop griping!

We heard Rock/Wreck Myself at Purdue and several days later at Tall Stacks-loved it both times-a little rough but it's just out there. Song seemed so appropriate at Purdue after Jeff anounced the death of his mother-had his heart into singing it. Best aspect of the song may be Nels and Glens solos. They are both so amazing-its great to let them loose. Favorite Nels moment Ashes of American Flags solo- May 4 2005. Glen is always great but his solo shows and recordings let him shine . I would love to see more solos from him on stage.

Dear Tweedy Family So sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult times. I also lost my mother a couple of years ago. Although you will all miss your mother and grandmother, her love and support will continue to give you strength and at unpredictable moments, flashes of memories will bring her back fresh and strong. From all I've read, etc. sounds as though you all will have a cherry ghost watching out for you. Sincere condolences Lorna and Bill Mulliken- Chicago

All of the new songs are musically rich-hell the band is great,- always fresh-innovative. But the music of these new songs is carrying all of the emotional content- the lyrics just don

"Cherry Ghost" sounded like a kidism- you know your child hears 'scary ghost' but optimistically repeats 'Cherry ghost'- Jeff has/had small children- it may have stuck. But I heard his explaination on Bob Edwards- still wish it was a kidism
