  1. Yeah, it appeared to me to be within the rules. I *can* see the Pirates' argument, I understand why they argued, but it was just a hard-nosed breakup of a DP in my opinion. One thing's for sure - if Pittsburgh decides to throw at any Cubs today (especially Rizz) all hell will break loose.
  2. My boy Rizzo is on track to have one of the strangest seasons anyone has ever had - he's flirting with The Mendoza Line (currently .213) but he has 32 RBIs in 48 games (of which he's only played in 39). He *could* be the first player to hit .200 or a shade above and still get 100 RBIS. I do think he'll eventually heat up with the BA, but still...really weird.
  3. For me it has to be ITMWLY. If for no other reason than every time, I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME I've seen the band (since 2002, maybe 20 times) they've played it. I think if it wasn't so ubiquitous I wouldn't feel this way. And, to be fair - I almost never listen to anything past about 2006.
  4. I've always thought the Poor Places > Spiders sequence is the very best thing they've ever did live. Poor Places for me.
  5. I guess I'm going over to YT then! I'll be checking Rust Radio periodically to see if any of these shows gets put up there.
  6. When I heard about this you were the first person I thought of. Is that not weird?
  7. Yeah. We're getting close to May as well, which is usually a box set announcement time.
  8. No truer words were ever said. Actually, everything about that shithole sucks, in my opinion. I went there one time - 4/13/88, and never ever went back. Which means I missed another 10 shows just a 3 hour drive away, but I could not stand that place.
  9. Halford. The end of Victim Of Changes. Seriously, does this end the thread? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDzutIb6p6I
  10. AHA! Well, I haven't heard all of the run but that Playin' from Night 1 Chicago was FOR REAL.
  11. Was the "texting" comment in reference to me? Just curious.
  12. I don't know if Phil & Friends have ever done it but it was played just 4-5 times with Pig, all in Fall '70. I watched the one from the other night, and it wasn't too shabby.
  13. All of this. I'm really excited about 2018. Barring injury we could see another run at the ring.
  14. Yeah. However people want to grieve is ok by me, but I really didn't want to watch that. Open caskets, kissing the dead goodbye...I don't do that. It just strikes me as sort of weird. But if one feels the need to see/touch the deceased then by all means do what you have to do.
  15. Thanks for the heads up! Definitely will have to check that one out.
  16. Probably my least favorite period of the 70s is that 15 months between Mickey's accident and Egypt. There's a very heavy, "subtlety of a jackhammer" approach that just rubs me in the wrong way for some reason. Don't get me wrong - they bring the goods, for the most part, but there's a heavy foot on the drums from that period. Once they returned from Egypt things get much less rock and roll and more jazzy and clean. Jan. '79 begins to hint at what is to come - and by Fall '79 it's a new approach entirely, in my opinion.
  17. I haven't got mine yet so I'll hope for Monday. It's a classic show from the period. A couple of things about Binghampton: The shows there were uniformly excellent, always one of the best from each tour and (oddly enough) every time they played there they did a song off of Aoxomoxoa.
  18. I spotted Kevin McHale on the lawn in '87. Wasn't that hard to pick him out - he was a good head taller than anyone else out there lol.
  19. Yeah, and it goes on FOREVER. Once at the height of the MegaDead Era I left our place on the lawn the second the last note of the first set was played, just to go the the restroom and I literally didn't return back until China Cat was starting. And all I did was go straight to the head and then straight back. I'll never forget that. I saw 15 GD shows there from '85-'89. My only regret is not going there for the previous 5 years.
  20. Man, this is such an impossible thing for me to wrap my head around I don't know where to begin. For an overarching look at the evolution of the band that 30 Trips box set is a good place to start. When I first heard about the project I started thinking about what I would choose, and lo and behold my choices were the same as Lemieux's on a number of shows - 11/10/67, 9/18/74, 9/28/75, 10/27/79, 7/31/82 and 10/26/89. Really, almost any official release is worthy of a serious listen - the discography on Wikipedia can give you an idea of what you might want to look into. As for things that
  21. Yeah, I saw them during the Moraz period (early 80s) and then a few times with an orchestra. Always a nice evening out. Legend of a Mind is the one for me. Really a nice song - the flute solo in the middle gives me chills. REPORTED
  22. I'll be there for you When you breathe I wanna be the air for you These five words I swear to you I'll be there for you Now go rinse your ears with muratic acid to rid yourself of the earworm.
