You're being too kind to a place that doesn't deserve it. Horrible security, overpriced tickets, poor access to water and bathrooms, oppressive heat, no air circulation..., the place sucks. The last time Wilco played there, there had to be about 100 VCers there and a good half dozen were sick from the heat while being inside at an evening show when daytime temps had been normal. There's no excuse why we all felt like we'd stumbled into a Turkish bath. I can't stress how shitty I think the place is but that's just my opinion. I'm fragile. I'm the Princess and the fucking Pea.

I worry sometimes about what a horribly cruel place the world can be, that someone I love will be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think that once that kind of thing happens to you, you can never go back to who you were before you knew how things really are. Sort of the adult version of figuring out there's no Santa Claus. So I worry about that.

I consider myself lucky to know just about everyone in this thread at least a little bit. Despite the wide variety of differences in all of you, there is a common trait you all share: intelligence. So why any of you would fall for another one of the Doughnut King's stunts, I'll never know. Here's to Sean's mom and dad, because whenever the real anniversary of his arrival is, here are two human beings who deserve your sympathy.
