2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!

Why would it be reasonable for Volstad to have a problem with Morgan stealing two bases? Volstad was the reason Morgan was on base, they were trailing by a margin, and it was early in the game. Was it reasonable for Volstad to go head-hunting 9being the back)? Was it reasonable for Morgan to get clotheslined? I'm not sure it is, regardless of Morgan being a douche. The hit into the catcher the previous night would be said to have been aggressive base-running by some if it wasn't morgan who barreled into the catcher, too. It wasn't that far of a stretch that he could have been safe, too. It -
Yep he's a tool. Overrated? Not sure he's really rated. The combo of his squawk and Slash's guitar and Duff's bass made for an excellent mix, imo. Izzy Stradlin was pretty decent, too, even in his solo stuff. I fought off GnR for a while when they came out and then succumbed.
-
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna win this thing. Again.

GnR were as good a RnR (?thread title) band as I've ever seen.Saw them twice live around that time and the shows were smokin. Late 80s/very early 90s they were on fire. It's not Metal, but Rock in the vein of 70s era Stones but edgier.
-
Their best days might be behind them but so are their fans, i guess.

Herman's Hermits command the same amount as Blues Traveler. That's farcical. Aerosmith, being one of the best-selling (if not the best) U.S. bands ever, commanding a million bucks is probably spot on.

Cool. Thanks. Can't make the live draft but that's fine.

Oh wait. I'm in now.

I can't get in.....all full I suppose.

Crowes are playing in Aspen this Saturday for a fest. Not headlining, though. They go on at @ 5 pm. Lynyrd Skyrnd goes on after them for the headlining spot.

Just to prove that the Goo Goo Dolls didn't always suck

Greg Ginn was/is a Deadhead. So was Rollins. So was Navarro and Farrell. And the Meat Puppets. And dudes from the Buttholes. And a shitload of others in that vein. It ain't a stretch. -

I never heard/listened to the GGDs when they were around (are they still?) but heard a couple tunes a few years ago that I thought were decent. I don't care about the imitation shit or who folks think they were trying to be or whatever. The tunes were decent. Decent pop imo. I don't know much about them at all and haven't looked at PT's clip but shit it's just tunes. Plus, I'm a sucker for a catchy riff with sappy lyrics. -
That good ol' Mountain Dew! I know you meant Morning Dew....I hear you on preference of seeing a band in a bar over a large venue. I'll be catching JGB in the bar over YMSB and LoS at Red Rocks. The Furthur shows are brutally expensive, too. Still, I like what they're doing and will catch 'em again next month. ed. It was Vacant Horizon referring to them as a cover band. My apologies.
-
I was fortunate to catch these as I was living in VA at the time (they only sold tix in VA) and the shows were snuck in for that tour. Probably the best 2 nights of GD experience I've ever had. I've got sbds of the shows already (they are widely accessible) and wonder how much better the masters actually sound. I'll likely refrain from a purchase on them but it's nice to see these two shows get mass-released on high quality, nonetheless.

I'm thumb's down, as well, about the biopic. I have no desire to watch an actor play him and the embellishments of artistic license. I'd imagine it'd be an annoying thing in the GD family, too. I watched part of a biography on JG a few nights ago that, even though folks like Parrish and Barlow and Donna were interviewed, had several inconsistencies/flat-out errors. That was done about five years ago and the researchers for that couldn't even nail it.

Wha? I heard the Nokia shows (and saw some clips) and Bob was obviously, ahem, off. Still, how can they be a cover band of themselves? JK is solid and so is Russo. I like their take on the tunes (Furthur, as a whole) and couldn't care less if Jill is making the setlists (which are fine by me as they are all over the map and unpredictable). The mish-mash of the tunes/setlists is half the fun and the music is unique in it's interpretation of the songs. Overall, it varies quite a bit from GD but retains the essence. My take, anyway. ed. And how is JK interpreting the tunes being "weird" any di
