  1. Seconded. And that Philip Roth book is pretty damn good, too. Kafka's The Trial, as well.
  2. Congratulations to you and your wife.

    Rock out, bastards!
  4. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this. OCMS might just shake your socks off.
  5. Big papi tossed in the first for arguing a called third strike (actually: tossed his helmet and bat onto the field). I knew that shit would catch up with him. Mr. Arias needs to know when to quit.
  6. Nothing, actually. Just rufflin' feathers.
  7. If Roger can reactivate that groin pull/bruise/whateverthehellitis around the second inning tonight the Mets'll be in business. Glavine tomorrow could be a close one, too. Plus, can they've gotta break that 9 game winning streak sometime very soon, right? Right?!! Oh please, that was too gentlemanly.
  8. Tsk. Tsk. MrRain. Ye of little faith in the upcoming Pup's album. I'll tell you, they sounded fantastic a few weeks ago. Some tunes were a little rushed (I realize it's part of their live deal, but they were even rushed from that perspective) but they were energetic, clicking, having fun, and played their collective ass off. Lots of chestnuts. Sounded like the old days.
  9. Hey A-man, have you listened to the Marc Ford album he put out a few months ago? Just wondering if it'd be worth looking into at all.
  10. And now the varied brother's Robinson projects.
  11. High five Mario for me (seems like a cool cat and is an avid fantasy baseballer), cop a feel off of Helen for me (she's kind of hot, sometimes), and kick Boggs in the sack for me (if for nothing else than for tromping around on that horse).
  12. Now we're thinking!
  13. Yes. My favorite on that album is the Jane's Addiction "Ripple."
  14. Hope you have a better day than the Sox have had in the last two days. Cheers!
  15. I agree. There's a slew of possibilities, I just went with the obvious pairings.
  16. 17. I don't have a cell phone, but if I did, and I intended on acquiring a ring tone, I'd go with either the Rockford Files theme song, the Sanford & Son theme song or the Barney Miller theme song. Maybe interchange them now and again. I'd also let the ring tone play all the way through for each call as I dig those tunes.

http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=29174 Some folks have been ragging on the Fillmore. I think for the size of place that Wilco could potentially play it's a great venue. I've seen many shows here and the sound is very good anywhere in the room. There is very limited seating (a few round bar tables on the railing off to the right with chairs and a balcony straight in the back opposite the stage). I like the fact that it's GA and you can wander around until you find a sweet spot. There are also two VIP areas elevated to the left of the stage that offer great views of the stage a
  19. I read today that Iggy Pop will be providing the voice of a young Rumsfeld, "Lil' Rummy."
