I know Sonic Youth has heavily modded Jazzmasters to have Humbuckers, which are then rechristened "Jazzblasters." I would suggest that you search for pre-'99 Sonic Youth recordings, you should be able to hear them. There is a site that catalogs their gear over the years with extreme detail...you'll have to poke around, I don't remember the URL.

When I think of Lennon I think of political-era Lennon or early, Help-era Lennon (e.g. Ticket to Ride). That's how I based my decisions. Don't have to flip a shit when I voice my opinion, man. I'm not a fan of writing overly political songs...it's who I am. Plus I'm more of a George / Paul person.

Techincally My Darling is a Jay Bennett song... To be honest I don't think a lot of songs remind me of Lennon...when I think of Lennon I think of crazy political songs...and Spiders is the only one to me that seems overtly political, but then when it comes to the music it's totally different.
