  2. I saw The Coolies do "Doug" several times in the late 80's. Clay Harper is a nut. "Amazingly, the Coolies followed the one-joke dig..? with the brilliant Doug, a trenchant "rock opera" about a skinhead who murders a transvestite short- order cook, gets rich by publishing his victim's recipes, falls into paranoia and substance abuse and ends up in the gutter. The sad tale is related through ingenious knockoffs of the Who ("Cook Book"), John Lennon ("Poverty"), the Replacements ("Coke Light Ice"), rap ("Pussy Cook") and metal ("The Last Supper"), and in a comic book
  3. Agree with DBD and I dig the nastiness of Last Dance.
  4. Appears RA has released a "single" and the BBC is the only one who has it. Single is "Two" with Ms. Crow/"Halloween Head". The below link can be streamed (May 5 show) and the song is played around the 50 minute mark. I just did an audio capture of just the tune and have uploaded to rapidshare. Link also below. Enjoy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/dermot/t...ist/index.shtml Grab the Song Here via Rapidshare Also, folks on altcountry-org, RA forum etc have been looking for a capture but I'm not registered on those boards so you can post it there if you are a member.
  5. Good Times indeed. I'm going to ATL to see the band Friday as well. See ya there.
  6. SarahC, you going to be at R&B's next Monday, 5/14? Bunch of my crew will be in attendance.
  7. LOL, just realized I'll be celebrating the cd release by seeing Son Volt in Chattanooga on May 14.
  8. I listened a few times last night. I really like it, imo standouts "Pick Me Up", "This Is All I came To Do" and "Were Not Alone". Now the opening 2 tracks really knock ya down, LOUD.
  9. Ex-wife and I had our "first dance" or whatever you call it at the reception to Jerry Garcia's "Shining Star." Of course had the tune fade out after a verse or two. I still love the song and Jerry's version, her well....I guess we I should have used the Dead's "Cold Rain & Snow."
  10. I love this disc Released April 2, 1996 - Recorded 1992 - 1996 Track listing "Groove Holmes"

  13. Man, thats tough and I feel for you. A few years back, thanks to some TMJ troubles causing anxiety issues and such caused me to skip many a shows for reasons you well understand. For someone whose outlet, hobby if you will is live music it was awful. Thankfully problems are behind me. I do undertand your situation and be grateful the boys allow us to tape shows and freely trade, etc.
  14. HORDE Tour 1995 in ATLanta was the first. I had seen Uncle Tupelo a few times prior. Most likely saw the band in festival settings after 1995 but I really didn't "get into Wilco" until around 1999. I caught my first full Wilco in Chattannoga on 8/28/99 at a dump called The Bay. Jeff wore pajamas on stage this night.
  15. "Insecure" = Violent Femmes, IMO. my first listen kinda tossed me into a NRBQ feeling
  16. Back in 2004 Ed Bradley I thought pulled one of the better Dylan interviews. Can't recall exact religion questions but he did dig into his childhood, marriage, why he changed his name, etc.
  17. Well, I like the new album. I like the recent Chicago show I grabbed off btetree last week. I'm looking forard to ATL and Chattanooga next month. It's ALL GOOD.
  18. Well Good Times indeed Brothers...here's to hoping we have sunny skies and cool breeze.
  19. and my good luck continues with Wico & JT presale. ATL - Section PIT, Row 4, Seats (7, 8) I haven't been further back than row 8 or so for my past 3 JT shows and 3-4 Wilco shows in the past year...Good Times indeed
  20. I rcd this email today. Guys, I am terriblyh sad and yet infinetly hopeful to post this from Patterson. You guys get it first - his orders. Y'ALL: It's with a wide range of emotions and feelings that I'm announcing that we have parted ways with Jason. The split, which I consider extremely amicable is the result of a period of personal and artistic growth from all sides which has left us with differing dreams and goals. Jason joined our band, mid-tour, in the fall of 2001, shortly after the release of our 4th album (Southern Rock Opera). His impact on the band was immediate and profound
  21. might as well ask in this thread........"Abbey Road Live" out of Athens, Ga, has anyone attended one of their shows? They are playin nearby tonight and may go see them. ARL Site

  23. Same here. WUTC 88.1 out of Chattanooga, TN. Station has always been Wilco friendly.
