  1. Wow, hard question... Nothing Up My Sleeve, it's a little more direct than most of his other songs but I think if you boil down a lot of Tweedy's songs to their base, Nothing Up My Sleeve is it.
  2. AM : Too Far Apart/Shouldn't Be Ashamed BT: Kingpin/What's the World Got in Store MA1: Another Man's Done Gone/I Guess I Planted ST: Summer Teeth/When You Wake Up Feeling Old YHF: Poor Places/Radio Cure MA2: Remember the Mountain Bed/Secret of the Sea AGIB: Wishful Thinking/Company in My Back
  3. I just added a cover of "Less than you think" for those interested. I couldn't figure out how to make the noise at the end, so I just added some off key riffing back there.
  4. I was thinking of doing "Less than You Think", so that may be next.
  5. I just posted a cover of "I'm the Man Who Loves You" I recorded this afternoon, tell me what you think, if you would be so kind. I'm fairly sure I got some lyrics wrong but it was a spur of the moment thing, so forgive me. www.myspace.com/sansgoldengun
  6. Read anything by Alan Moore and Brad Meltzer. Also, check out any book that Alex Ross draws (IE Kingdom Come).
  7. I saw Ben Folds at the Shrine Mosque a few years ago and I'm going to see Wilco there in October as well. It's an alright venue, sort of reminded of a Church gym or something like that. The Drury Inn in Springfield is a nice hotel, it may be a little pricey though but it's the only hotel in the area I know of.
  8. Yeah, the Pageant is pretty lame, but it's basically all we've got for mid-sized venues.
  9. Yeah, the singer on most of our songs is also an amazing photographer and made us look a whole lot cooler than we really are.
  10. I don't have many pictures of just my gear, though a friend of mine did take a bunch of cool pictures while we recording a little EP in my basement this summer (www.myspace.com/notnorman, if you're interested in hearing a few), so these are a few of them.
  11. Guitars: Gibson SG Standard Fall '04 Edition Taylor 312CE '77 Yamaha Classical (Really bassy full sound) Amp: Line 6 Flextone II I like the amp fairly well, I got it with the floorboard for 300 bucks total. It can simulate a good amount of amps and effects, but I'm looking to sell it and pick up a Vox AC30 halfstack.
  12. The solo version of Spiders and Theologians (which are both posted in the forum) are great acoustic songs to play.
  13. I don't really have a problem with looping as long as it isn't too crazy, sometimes it can just be downright cool. As for acoustic effects some delay never hurts if you do it right and even distortion or overdrive can add an unexpected twist to an acoustic show. Just make sure you get the levels right, no one likes squealing feedback when it isn't a part of the song.
