  1. Aww, this is very sad news. My condolences to his family and friends. I enjoyed watching Meet the Press with him on Sunday. He really did seem like a good guy. I think we've lost a valuable perspective with his passing, especially with the upcoming elections, etc.
  2. Sending mucho vibeage! Do hope everyone and their loved ones are safe.
  3. Vibes Ms. Lynn ...and always vibes all around. Hope things improve for everyone soon.
  4. It's that monkey kid's !!! Have a super one Carlos!
  5. Life's Rich Pageant and Automatic...Green still holds a close place in my heart, probably because it was the first/last time I've ever seen them live and it was a pretty powerful experience as a teenager.
  6. I will quadruple ( ? ) that on Feast of Wire. I do like Garden Ruin too though. Wendy, thanks for posting the info.! I do hope they'll do a few more midwest dates later in the year. They are really something live.
  7. Just saw her live recently and was very pleasantly surprised I have to say. Her live show basically blew me away! (Thus the need to resurrect this thread. ) Loved hearing her cover of Folsom Prison Blues and Hallelujah. What a voice! Just got her album this morning. Hubby didn't get to see her live, but seems to like what he's heard this morning. owl, thanks for the links! Look forward to having a listen soon.
  8. A show I saw there last summer was "seated" on the floor...which was basically rows of metal folding chairs. (Needless to say they didn't stay in rows when everyone rushed the stage. LOL) Enjoy the show! This place, 75th Street Brewery, is only about 5 miles south from there...haven't been there in a few years, but used to really enjoy their beer and food back in the day, just an FYI.
  9. Gonna miss you Sir Stews-a-lot. Work hard and please check in if you can. Your teh awesome. Know this will be just the beginning of a great new chapter! For you, friend: Don't say I didn't care...'cos you'll be a beautiful liar.
  10. Hope you have a super birthday week long extravaganza, my dear friend! You deserve it and more.
  11. I've watched gas going up .03 to .05/day for the past week...it was up to $3.95 last night. I expect it to be over $4 today though, in time for summer travel/long weekend. It's really depressing.
  12. I was standing (dancing, flailing, what have you!) with all of you...I hope I wasn't too scary. I think you all are teh awesome concert buddies. M. Chris is truly a calming force too!
  13. You'll be happy to know this person got some very much deserved and desired burnt ends (NAPE) as partial payment for their help. I too am bummed I missed the Sooie Meat Extravaganza...although I did hear them sing a little out by the kraut.
  14. Zowie. How much fun was that?! My feet are still hurting today. It was so great to meet so many of you VCers (and extended family) Saturday furreal...bonus on meeting Meat as well! A tremendous thank you to all of you who helped us out with finding tickets, finding our way, and finding the rail...big hugs to you all. Wish every Saturday could be so fun. Wilco and their VC fans pretty much rock my face (and feet) off!
  15. Thanks a-man for the link! That was amazingly fast. Gotta love the tapers!!
  16. They only played about 30 minutes last night (but there was a strict curfew so everything was pretty much right on time, etc.).
  17. No he didn't talk about it. But he used his hands to comb it out into a mad scientist looking do during one of the songs.
  18. She was truly basking in the glow of the drumming god's light! (That pic of Glenn is the awesome too.) edit: did anyone get a photie of Jeff (was it during Hate It?) with the self-styled Wayne Coyne-sque (Flaming Lips) hair?!
  19. Not much to add, other than I thought it was another great show...loved the energy the guys had last night! I was sad to see it end so soon, the curfew was right at 10:30 (this venue shared the alley with a residential area...people were watching the show from their roof!)...but teh Wilcos really gave us every penny's worth, giving it all right until the last minute. And kudos to the promoters/Lawrence, KS (and of course Wilco) for pulling it off...I'd love to see another show like this there. Couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather this time of year in Kansas (as Jeff pointed out).
