I'm just reading that right now! Really good so far.
  3. I use a Zvex Box Of Rock which is really nice and a Fulltone OCD.
  4. Cold Roses is my fav as well, the second disc is really really hard to beat in the Ryan catalogue IMO, I can't wait for the documentary on him and the Cardinals during the CR/JCN/29 year.

  8. Yeah true At Ease isn't the best example, but they do have their fair share of bashers. The Ryan Adams message board can be pretty brutal at times, especially when he periodically used to post.
  9. People constantly bashing the bands whose message board they're on happens all the time, look at At Ease or Backstreets, I barely ever read a positive thing posted! I think VC has been so slow the past while due to the band making two mediocre records (comparative to their back catalogue, we all know if any other band made those two records we'd hail them as the second coming), and the death of Jay Bennett seems to play a big part as well. To get back on topic though, I hope someone tapes these solo shows and that Jeff plays some new songs at them, I'm getting pretty anxious to hear some
  10. Yup, this stuff seems like it basically lead to some of the garbage on Cardinology (Crossed Out Name and Cobwebs removed).
  11. Totally agree, thank god he released Easy Tiger instead. At least that record, despite it's faults, had some really good tunes that really got a lot better in a live setting.
  12. Thanks for the kind words! There has been really no other bands to use the Pay With A Tweet model yet, a lot of authors and businesses, so we sort of feel like we're on the cutting edge of it. But, so far in the past four days it has been crazy for us, we actually broke the Pay With A Tweet site because of too many downloads lol, and we've gotten a bunch of press regarding it, and our website hits have been through the roof. It's essentially a pyramid scheme, but I think it gives the most reward for both parties involved, bands get probably the best promotion possible (it's basically wo

  15. Hey guys, hope you don't mind my SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION, but I figure I've paid my dues 'round here. My band Kalle Mattson (http://www.kallemattson.com, http://www.myspace.com/kallemattson) finished our new album "Anchors" a little while ago. It was mixed by Howie Beck, who's a Juno-nominated singer-songwriter by himself but he's also worked on albums by Jason Collett, Hayden, Matthew Barber, Josh Rouse, Feist etc. and the record was mastered at the legendary Bernie Grundman Studios in Los Angeles, and they've worked on albums by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Beck, The Band,
  16. They really did a fantastic job on it, the only thing I'd say that would come close is a few of the Beatles remasters (Abbey Road specifically).
  17. Apparently he's playing Because The Night and Save My Love tonight on Fallon.
  18. Bruce, Stevie and Roy are playing with the Roots tonight on Fallon, can we say awesome?
  19. True dat. I've been just purging on this for the past 5 days. The Promise as an album regardless of what people are saying about the 78 vs. 2010 vocals yadda yadda I think there are some really really great songs on there. The '78 version of Racing In The Street is just fantastic, Someday (We'll Be Together) almost sounds like modern Bruce with a very 60's/Beach Boys type feel, and Ain't Good Enough For You is just a great pop song. It's really just great to hear some new (or in this case most of it unheard until now) Bruce material. Also, the actual remastered Darkness sounds fantastic, t
  20. Yeah the 2009 DVD has turned out to be my favorite part of the Darkness boxset so far, I'd love to see a tour with just the 7 piece ESB. And Max said that he apparently recovered from the surgery much quicker than most people, and that's pretty evident as he's been on the road for two months-ish now.
  21. It's basically the exact same as the riff in Lady Madonna.
  22. It seems pretty obvious that they will tour again, Bruce and Max have both said recently that they will be by 2012 at the latest, I wouldn't be surprised to see something come up around next fall or possibly even earlier than that. I think we could probably expect a new Bruce album of some sort (solo, sessions or ESB) by next year as well. On another note I just got my boxset in the mail today and it is phenomenal, really really well done packaging and just a great overall look into Darkness.
  23. I'd say get everything up until BITUSA, which still has some great songs on it, it's really just a victim of the times in terms of production. If you can get past the disgusting synths it's a solid record.
  24. Same, what I can't wait for is a remaster of the River, on CD it is so quiet it is ridiculous.
