  1. I like it when they segue from something and leave a ton of noise/space/ambiance in the beginning of Reservations.
  2. Settle down, daaaaang! ;-) Just go to www.wilcoworld.net and then click on the Roadcase. Its starting at 3pm Central time, so it'll be at 4pm Eastern time.
  3. I'm in Chicago, so I'm looking for Central time. I think yesterdays was at 3pm. Is it the same today?
  4. They never play the same song the same way twice and usually don't repeat a song two nights in a row. I love how if they're playing an exciting show, where the crowed is really into it, they'll take a song and bring it up double-time, just to add to the energy. I'm surprised more people on this here forum haven't listened to them much, seeing as Wilco and Umphrey's are two of the most talented acts out of Chicago right now.
  5. Fair enough. I consider myself biased to the band because I grew up listening to their individual music before they formed Umphrey's. I do understand how you may not like their lyrics, they're a bit tongue-in-cheek at times.
  6. Fuck musictoday! I don't even have my pre-order SBS yet so i can't listen to the show, this just sucks.
  7. This is just streamed through Wilcoworld.net, correct?
  8. This would make my summer if it really happens.
  9. That is one thing that you cannot deny about Umphrey's, not everyone may like their music, but you cannot deny their talent.
  10. Who is this guy? he's hilarious!
  11. Exactly, i'll only pre-order vinyl because it usually sells out quick.
  12. The genre's of music between Wilco and Umphrey's McGee is very different, but many Umphrey's fans are HUGE Wilco fans. I just wanted to see if there was a crossover in the fanbase here. I grew up in South Bend, where Umphrey's got their start before they moved to Chicago. I know a ton of you check out local bands here in Chi, just wanted to see if any of you have gotten a chance to see Umphrey's yet. With Glenn opening for Umphrey's and also playing the show with Kris Myers (UM drummer) at Elmhurst College maybe there is some crossover. I'll admit, they dont' sound much alike, Umphrey's
  13. They played a free show at the Lincoln Park Zoo a few weeks ago. It was for Green Apple Festival. It was a great little day of music, I missed the Blisters because it was early but I did catch Umphrey's McGee and the Disco Biscuits who played later that day.
  14. I did the normal shipping and I received an email on Saturday and still have not received mine yet. No tracking number or anything like that.
  15. Yeah, Leroy's a pimp, basically Leroy is a pimp name. He is a great musician too, and he doesn't dance around with blankets draped around his back.
  16. They have always been a bit tongue in cheek...
  17. Any word on this? Rumors? Anything? I really thought we'd have an announcement by now
  18. I have to chime in on this JB vs Nels argument. JB was great in Wilco, but just cannot even compare to the beauty and emotion of Nels' playing, not just soloing, but all around texturing. Nels just has him beat. Listen to this Ashes of American Flags from 4-11-06 and find me anything JB ever did that can compare to this. http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=...rican_Flags.mp3 And I know that JB may have had a part in writing the song, if that matters to any of you, just listen to Muzzle of Bees from any live show that Nels has played on it, that's proof enough.
  19. I heard that Heavy Metal Drummer was written about Jay Bennett.
  20. Why does that even matter? Its stripped down when compared to Sgt. Peppers and Magical Mystery Tour, or a change in direction. That's what we're arguing about here right, the change in direction, stripped down comparison of SBS to YHF/Summerteeth/AGIB?
